Yeeesss! Grew up in the Bronx and Brooklyn; D Train is hands down my favorite; my family knows that “Keep On” is on my funeral list. Got to see him perform 2 years ago at the Legends Of Vinyl Hall of fame induction ceremony in Queens; needless to say, he was the highlight of the night for me. The skating, the block parties, people together; BEST times of my life ❤

Although the group was called D-Train, that was actually the nickname of the singer, James "D-Train" Williams, which he got as a football player in HS in Brooklyn, NY. My favorite songs from D-Train are, "Somethings On Your Mind" and a nice slow jam called "Your The Reason" you should definitely check those songs out. Another artist who was huge at that time was a guy named Colonel Abrams. You should definitely react to his songs, "Trapped" and "I'm Not Gonna Let"

In the UK we used to call this music 'Boogie'. Mix of funk, disco and soul. It had a small window in the early 80s. Died out by 85, and then the music morphed in to Street Soul followed by early New Jack Swing by the very late 80s, and soulful House/US Garage.

If you like "D Train", you'll LOVED the group "Change!" They featured a very young Luther Vandross. They had multiple hits like: "Change of Heart," "You are my Melody," "A Lovers Holiday", "The Best in You", "The Glow of Love" & "Hold Tight." They were 80's soulful, synth, funk, club masterpieces!

If you're enjoying that 80s funk/soul/electronic groove give either "The Conway Brothers - Turn It Up" , "Dazz Band - Let It All Blow" or "Skipworth & Turner - Thinking About Your Love" a go. Sure You'll love them all. Bring your dancing shoes 😁
