Killua is afraid of losing Gon to the boundless fury inside his mind. It has gotten to a point to where Killua is unsure whether Gon even cares if Killua is apart of this operation or not. At the beginning of this palace invasion, Killua alone noticed Gons eyes and aura darkening to a more sinister tint. We know that Gon already is taking the blame for not immediately leaving after Kite's signal to leave. He was also fully intent on killing Morel in that episode he wanted to test Gon's resolve. Only Killua was the one to snap him out of it but it is becoming increasingly more evident that Gon is losing himself to the darkness he is cultivating. Killua merely wants to be able to share/shed the burden Gon is carrying on his shoulders without advertently snuffing out the flame thats been ignited to confront Pitou. Suffice it to say, Killua doesnt want Gon to tread this dark path alone but isnt privy on how to communicate that in a way that doesnt disarms Gon's focus
