"Crush on You" is pop perfection. A wonderful, up-beat dance tune from them. Lead singer here was about 15 years old (give or take a year). Very mature voice for one so young.

“Make It Real” went to #1 on the adult contemporary charts, but The Jets also uptempo songs like “Crush On You”, “Cross My Broken Heart” and “Rocket 2 U”.

Family group from Minneapolis. The Jets charted 10 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 between 1986 - 1989. "Make it Real" was their 7th single to chart and the last of their 5 Top 10 hits, peaking @ #4 on the Hot 100 & oddly, only #24 on the R&B chart. Usually these songs kill on the R&B chart but are lesser hits on the Hot 100, but this one reverses that trend.

Lead Singer Elizabeth Wolfgramm is not only beautiful but she has a gorgeous voice, This song is around 1988 so she's like 16 years old. A very mature voice.

they have two styles: danceable pop/r&b/funk: crush on you, curiosity, cross my broken heart, rocket 2 u, slow tender pop ballads: you got it all, make it real. Crazy that singer Liz Wolfgramm was in her teens singing these songs. Such a beautiful stunning vocal gift from the heavens.

Elizabeth Wolfgramm has one of the best voices to ever been recorded. She is amazing! The group eventually got screwed over by their label, and the groups split up when her older brothers sued for rights to the name of the group from their younger siblings, and Elizabeth became jaded to the business and stopped performing after that for a long time. She also is a breast cancer survivor! Strong women! And I must admit, growing up with this group, I had the HUGEST crush on Elizabeth Wolfgramm, especially after they released the song "You Got It All". If you liked this song, you will truly LOVE that song. Something in how Elizabeth sings, she really sells the song to you. You believe every word she sings is coming from her heart.

Just read that she was only 19 when they found her cancer. My goodness. Then they told her that she would never have children. She showed them. Her and her husband have 7 beautiful children and live in Hawaii

I wouldn't say they got screwed as much as I would say they didn't know the laws of the industry but how do you split a song amongst 10 people? Music is split by the 💯 so going in with ten members not including the label split, producer split, writer split where does that leave the singer split in 10 by 100? You are setting yourself up for nothing so I blame their parents for setting them up rather than the label

My first concert was The Jets. I was in 8th grade and they played the local high school. The tickets were made available to us junior high students for an inexpensive price. My cousins, some friends, and I all went. They played in the gymnasium. It was super fun. We were all dancing and just having a good ole time.

This group had basically 2 types of songs; slow, pop love songs like this one and "You've Got it All" and fast, bouncy pop songs like "Rock it to You" and "Crush on You." Pure 80's teen music.

These were 8 siblings out of a total of 17. Elizabeth, the lead singer, was 12 years old when they exploded onto the charts. She has a beautiful voice. Imo their best hits that you guys should check out are Crush on You, Curiosity, and Rocket (led by one of the brothers) but this is my favorite ballad by them along with You Got It All. Welcome to the dark side Jay lol. You can groove to slow songs just as hard as you jam or rock out to fast songs. Some of the best vocalizations, harmonies, various instrumentation, and arrangements can often be found on slower tracks than fast one.

another family group I think you guys would like from the 70s are The Sylvers, they were comprised of 8 siblings I believe, 5 boys and 3 girls. They had two big hits , BOOGIE FEVER and HOTLINE, they were great singers and performers. and had those great 70s outfits....they were around the same age as the Jacksons and friends with them also.

I was waiting for the Jets! My high school won a seatbelt competition between schools in I think 87-88 and the prize was having the Jets in concert at the school. We had a lot of fun getting ready for them, and the concert was fantastic, they were at the height of their fame at the time. Good memories!

Don't forget about the Sylvers, and the DeBarges. The Sylvers was another big family group. Some hits for them were "Hotline, Boogie Fever, and High School Dance." With the family DeBarge you get two acts, Switch and DeBarge. Switch featured the two eldest sons Tommy and Bobby. Their hits include, "There Never Be, I Call Your Name, and I Wanna Be Closer." And I think you guys started on DeBarge which was the rest of the siblings. The thing about Switch and DeBarge, both acts featured the high falsetto or the DeBarge sound. J will love it😂😂😂. The Jets have a nice party song called, "Crush on You."

An underrated Minneapolis sound group!; not usually mentioned in the same breath as other local groups who made it big! The Jets had 5 songs in the Hot-100 and 6 hits overall! I've had the pleasure to see the Jets in concert several times! Sadly, the family is split, performing as two separate groups. I hope they get their differences ironed out and reunite! You should also check out their other big hits: "Rocket 2 U," "Crush on You," "You Got It All," "Cross My Broken Heart," "Curiosity"

To me their best is "Crush On You" . . . if you ever react to it -- you MUST watch the video that goes with it. It's the most "80-ist" video you could ever watch in your life! The lead singer was about 11YO when they got their record deal. When this song came out, she was either a preteen or 13 at the most this song came out. She said in an interview that she had to imagine what the heartache would be like because she had not yet experienced it. One of my favorite bands when I was a kid.

Awwww man, I'm three weeks late in this lol. I love The Jets. They were the 80s version of the Jacksons. They had some hits back in the day. The lead singer was fourteen or fifteen when she sung this. Last I heard of them, they were having a rift going on so they split and were doing separate shows. But this group is legendary to me

I just saw today that Eugene passed away on Monday, April 15th at age 56 from complications of a heart issue. I don't think he was in this video, he may have went on to his own musical project at this point. He was adopted by the family. I know he's in the "Crush On You", "You Got It All" and "Private Number" videos. He has the curly reddish hair. R.I.P.

The Jets have many great songs, some ballads like this one (such as "You Got It All"), and others that are more upbeat like, "Curiosity" (written by Prince I believe), "Crush On You", "Rocket 2 U", "I Do You", ""Cross My Broken Heart", "Private Number" (Another Prince written song), " etc.

This song came out on their self-titled "The Jets" album in 1985. The lead singer, Elizabeth, was born in 1972. That means she was 13-years-old when she recorded this song. Let that sink in. Immensely talented group from Tonga. Pure music without all the technological assists of today. Pure music.

"You Got It All" has a similar vibe, with a bit of sax. Another sibling group you need to check out is The Corrs- "So Young", "Breathless", "All the Love in the World"...

If you were a teenager when this song came out in 87 and went through a break up, this was your song. The Jets are a fantastic band. All siblings, super talented ❤

1987 was my Senior year in HS. This band was incredibly popular with my friends. Almost couldn't turn the radio on without hearing "Crush on You" when it hit. Fun, memorable times in my life :)

I remember my high school won a contest from a local radio station. The prize? A private gym concert by The Jets. Plus extended meet and greets. An awesome experience
