Even before Scary Monsters and the entire Brostep movement he was making bangers that weren't even in the 140 genre. Skrillex was one of the main producers who really brought the whole exaggerated side chaining to mainstream EDM along with his unique take on Vocal Chops; Make Things For Smile - Electro House Slats Slats Slats - Bass House I Am Skrillex - Synthwave I wish you all the luck of the world - Progressive House No mercy Only violence - Bass House Scatting - Synthwave The Wind Blows - Synth Pop Scary Monsters had All I Ask Of You, Bangarang had Summit and the Glitch Hop BANGER of a tune, Right On Time. There's the Leaving EP, Coast Is Clear, Doompy Poomp, Fuck That and Fire Away all from Recess. I don't know where the meme narrative has come from that implies Skrillex killed Dubstep by making amped up Tearout and has only just now started doing other stuff, the man has been reinventing himself his entire Career from Screamo/Metalcore/Emo to the Equinox EP (super experimental) and changing his name from Twipz to Skrillex, going from the unreleased Gost EP to the signature sound on Scary Monsters and even beyond that he kept changing his sound and trying new things. This is really sick, and I'm so glad that the "Hate Skrillex" train is on its last legs now, I think the more people look into the history of music as it is today, the better perspective we have on how things actually got to where we are now. He really did open the doors for producers and showed us even if all you have is a laptop, NOTHING can hold you back from making the sounds you hear in your head and now we've got so many insanely talented producers making hits from their bedrooms. Thank god for Skrillex, he is a true inspiration and he's fought hard to make his name and mark in music.

@@neonvoid I actually have never heard of Danger, but it's literally 1 year difference. The first song from Danger was in 2007 and for Skrillex it was 2008/9 so idk feels like splitting hairs at that point. I've never heard of Danger and to add to that, prior to calling himself Skrillex, Sonny was making music as "Twipz" prior to 2008

I challenge you to download FL trial version and just get started. Only downside is, you need to have a full version to edit any saved projects, but it's better than not having anything to work on at all. For beginners, Instead of seeing this as a downside, this limitation allows you to focus on the skill of quickly spinning up musical pieces. Also, if you know anyone with the full version, you can send them your saved FL file, have them open and save it and then send it back to you. This allows you, the trial user, to open the file for another instance. (it's a feature meant for teachers and students, where the student uses trial version only.)
