I think that Anby used to be Soldier 11 comrade. Remember, Anby actually not her original name, it was given by Nicole so she probably used the name like Soldier 10 or 12 before she meet Nicole. The reason why Soldier 11 hate traitors so much because Anby became a deserter at some point. Hell, they're even share the same trait, they both speak in monotonous tune, fighting style almost the same, they even passionate when it's come about food (like Soldier 11 love ramen while Anby love hamburger).

the name Demara was given to Anby. Also Soldier 11 has a unique callout for anby ingame. yknow when you get hit and you can switch over to character to assist them, when anby gets hit Soldier 11 calls out to anby and shouts "anby!" so her name is just Anby just her last name is unknown

But in description said that " her identity as "Anby Damara" only exist after joining Gentle House (Cunning House), the name obviously taken from Nicole" which means her first name and last were given by Nicole. Mihoyo really should be specific if Damara only her given name. Probably it's kinda spoiler that Soldier 11 will meet Anby someday, that's why she call Anby name.

There was a chinese video about why Anby is the icon of Zenless Zone Zero. It conjects that Anby is actually soldier zero and every other soldier is her clone. Anby also acted as an drill instructor (possibly to those soldiers) before which she vaguely mentions in her trust event.

Based on the lore, Anby was adopted by Nicole after she found her in the ruins of the old capital hence her name, Anby Demara while S11 disregarded her past which can contribute that they may be related to some sort. from the cinema, S11 got red eyes while Anby has Amber eyes. Their fighting styles are much alike and Nicole said that when she found Anby she was already skilled in combat that's why she made her join her group. Their preferences are very much different but both lack common sense as Anby mixes 'Movies' to reality while S11 mixes her 'Soldiering' to her daily life. As per wiki, there's a voice line where Anby coaches S11 and gives her advice.

Its honestly hard to tell if they are either clones, sisters or former comrades. My headcanon is that they were kinda going through their own Spartan Project thing and that project kinda fell through but Soldier 11 decided to stay while Anby either went AWOL or was allowed to leave. The two having very similar gear, weapon and fighting style and Soldier 11's trailer and her dialogue in her Agent Invite quests proves that they knew each other at one point but were seperated. Hell, Soldier 11 is given ALOT of freedom to do whatever she wants so its genuinely hard to tell if she was forced to stay or if she decided to stay OBOL Squad

She would have been known only as Soldier 10 or something if she was still with the Defense force. So the lack of names combined with them being identical and being part of a Black Ops group gives credence to the clone theory.

Zzz's channel released a soldier 11 lore video. It was short but in the video It shows that in the midst of a very dangerous situation 11 was remembering Anby's advice/ teachings and at the most crucial moments in the jp version she said something along the lines of " I got my own way of doing things" which leads me to believe that 11 is Anby's clone but still has Anby's memories in her, despite this she wants to be her own person and not just a copy of the original. This is just my head cannon so go argue with your grandma.

They re clones maybe. When you do the Soldier 11 videotape quest, shes very strange when proxy ask about their conrades, and her insist that we cant meet then. Maybe because they re a secret army of clones. My theory is in some point, Anby get K.O in a cavity and her team abandon her. Maybe Soldier 11 think Anby just... "run away" abandon her mission, thats why she repeat a lot she hate traitors.

the most common theory is that Anby is the first prototype of the "Soldier" in what would be a line of Soldier clones. Soldier 11 distaste of traitors and her obvious defiance against Anby's voice in her character teaser pretty much suggests that Eleven's relation with Anby is strained

i always thought that they were just the same person. like they're so similar, their voices, personality, and their voice lines too. and soldier 11's code in the beginning of her story was literally "flame thunder". they even both don't know their real names, or what their life was before now. but maybe that's just a stretch bc she prly doesn't have time to be both anby and soldier 11. and seeing all the comments of them being clones prly makes more sense, and would explain why they don't know their past lives, bc they prly didn't have a past life.

In the trailer, it was Anby's voice advising her. The sword reflected Anby's face. You could barely see the green from her clothes on it too. Anby and Soldier 11 are definitely related, the sibling theory isnt far off since they both look the same. Her saying, "I will walk my own path" moght actually mean shebwont follow in her sister's ways, or maybe commander.

Both are probably some type of similar humanoid weapon or something. Anby with a more methodical and calculated approach and Soldier 11 with more humanity in mind. Both also probably used in the same unit before with Anby being Soldier 11's role model or something simialr. Anby at some point "deserted" leading to Soldier 11 hating her and feeling betrayed. At least, that would explain a lot of things to me. Them being sisters...idk man, doesnt necessarily need to be the case.

It was only after this trailer that I realized they had a connection, too. So, I hopped into Training Mode and it turns out Soldier 11 yells "Anby" if she swaps in while Anby is taking damage. It's a bit if-fy to trigger, though.

I'm not sold on them being related yet, I AM in the clone conspiracy camp though, but I do think Anby was at least a superior that Soldier respected a great deal. There's dialogue where you mention how she sounds like a Drill Sergeant and Anby says, "Yeah, I did something like that before." I think Anby and Soldier were in the same unit, but Anby may have excelled and rose in the ranks faster. She took on a mentor like roll to Soldier, who may have been subpar or just downright bad. That's why their fighting style is similar, because Anby took her on under her wing. Something then happened that shook Anby's faith in the military (seems to be mass causalities of civilians going off the main story dialogue) and she defected.

pretty sure they are clones. that's why it's soldier 11. there's 100% more clones than just them too. and that's why the 'normal' soldiers aren't running around with swords using elemental attacks and able to cut bullets out of the air they are genetically made clone super soldiers. anby got out and nicole gave her a name that's why she has a name. this is my theory anyways.
