It BO-keh, it is a photography term which describes shallow depth of field photos with out of focus areas that are pleasing to the eye. Interesting that they picked a visual term for an audio piece of gear

So glad you said this Z. I thought something was wrong with me because I’m liking these more than my Atriums. The comments about the drama and impact are spot on, they are so fun to listen to, and I listen mostly to classical! Listen to the Ravel concerto for the left hand, the bass notes at the beginning…rumbling and resonating forever. These are AWESOME. No hyperbole in this review, they really are lightning in a bottle.

You should try the Atrium Closed, those are my current favorite.

I enjoy the Atrium Closed more than the Bokeh, but the Bokeh is fun as hell. I also sold my Atrium Open when I got my Atrium Closed. I love sub bad lol

If memory serves, the Bokeh were being tuned at the same time that Amir from ASR was dumping on Zach for tuning to preference and not to measurements. So perhaps the "eff you" tuning was directed at someone....

It seems like forever since Zeos last fell madly in love with a pair of bookshelf speakers - I actually miss those vids from the old apartment where he filled his days stuffing ports and waxing lyrical about the tonality of soft dome tweeters.

I own the Bokeh. I enjoy them, but I wish the Sub-bass was better. I am amazed that someone who started by modifying headphones and selling pads could so poorly design a pad-to-earcup interface on his own headphones. Pad rolling the Bokehs is genuinely one of the most painful experiences in my Audiophile journey.

Z I cannot but think that after this Zach will be your new best friend. Have to say your reviews always make me smile and laugh. 😂 OTOH after this review I might push the Atrium Opens to one side and try these first as a ZMF ‘gateway drug’. I particularly appreciated your take that these are good for OTG and also scale on desktop gears like speaker amps (that’s my sauce, man).

Zeos, the fiio jt1 are closed backs fyi. So these aren’t the first closed backs you loved in a long time.

Questionable. I can easily hear sounds from the outside wearing the JT1 and I can hear sound leak out when someone else is wearing them. They're dampened for sure but not true closed back headphones like the Bokeh. The only thing between the driver and the outside grill is a thick piece of fleece (JT1).

I´m done with headphones. My T5V´s destroyed them for me. I got fed up of buying headphones without listening to them, hoping they will "be it", and then they´re not. I´m not rich. I can´t afford wasting money like that. So now, i use my T5V´s during the day, and i do not listen to music during the night...

Same, I stopped dead when my Swan OS10 came, it literally break my perception of what audio can get for a budget. Got a KEF LSX with a Polk Subwoofer attached to it and I never need anything more. Now all my headphones are strictly Bed side use, they are like 6x the sunk cost I've spent on speakers😂.

@@zxSwifty put some sub to it my dude, most 2 driver KEFs need them. Or maybe it's just not to your taste, my Fav cans are on the HD800 and T1 range so the KEF suit me just fine. The sub and my room fit it quite well, it increases the bass of the speakers I've put in my setup.
