Some of us Coloureds also served and fought for the SADF in the Caprivi strip Angola /Namibia border and up till today no recognition or footage of SACC regiment many years later its sad that we were seen as traitors by our own people 😢

Snap, a Rhodie (Bulawayo, Hamilton High), who served in 7 SAI '85 - '87 deployed to 52 Bn. AND ALSO voted no. We knew from Rhodesia, that was a bad idea.

Unfortunately, years of comfort under apartheid had made the white man arrogant, complacent and stupid, rendering him easy prey for De Klerk's lies and treachery and the SABC's feel-good, multiracial brainwashing.

South Africa should of kept the SADF instead of disbanding it after apartheid most of the current problems could be put down easily ex the looting and and so on not defending apartheid but SADF as a defending force was pretty good in tactics

My old neighbor fought for the SADF he misses his old country. He moved to the Netherlands and always told me if his dog died, he would go back. I am a soldier myself, and he spoke with me for an hour about the bush war and showed me his wounds on his arm, which he is still not able to move. I gave him the recognition he deserved and gave my respects to him. We think he moved back, since we never saw him again.

My father was in the old SADF & 2nd battalion during that period of time , it taught him alot but buggered his knees up - his other friends from the force have also got the same problems - the thing with the SADF they didn't do things sloppy or lazy they actually did it the right way and that's how you get through life , you've got to not be lazy with things.

I suspect it's PW Botha who was famous for he's total onslaught approach to communism in Southern Africa. The Cubans and russians where in angola their proxy pushing towards Namibia that was under SA control as part of a UN mandate to prepare the country for democracy Namibia would go to SWAPO anyway but with the fall of the Soviet Union and the withdrawal of Cuba the treat was over so SA could accept the outcome

Jip julle is seker reg. Wit wolf tronk ens. Wil graag aan julle twee slap gatte noem. 2007 was ek en my vrou gehijack my vrou dra vals tande agv van die herhaalde skoppe in haar gesig. Jy word wakker elke dag en kyk oor jou skouer en hoop jy word nie aangerand nie. Jy is net te slapgat om dit te erken. Sou die kak die fan tref gaan jy skree gee dai ou geweer. So ek is seker julle lewe nie lekker in die land nie. Wonder net waarom noem julle my name. Pisoff klim uit onder jou klip en kyk wat om jou aan gaan. Die lewe is baei moeilik vir wit mense in die land. So ek klou nog bietjie vas aan iets wat reg gedoen was. En ons deel was van iets wat gewerk het.
