Yo Garrett, I got a few things to remind you: - BMX Streets is coming out April 5th, I don't know if you'd be interested, I believe it was previously "Pipe BMX", if you remember that. - There's a new crazy swamp map in SXL that came out on Milky's new video, it's really cool and unique. - There's a way to play Session in VR, it combines 2 mods, Milky has a video on that if you need it. - I DMed you on discord with a link to a bunch of old hard to get SXL maps, I highly recommend you take a look on there cuz there's some neat stuff. - Unrelated but would love to see some Skate 3 content, I think you don't post a lot about it because there's not that much content on it, it freaking sucks that the community parks are down, those are a vibe 😢. Random aside: It's still strange to see Cuz on these videos because I had skateboarded with him for like a decade at Bonsor. He was there on one of the first Saturdays I ever visited when I was just learning to skate. The ENTIRE TIME I had no clue he ever worked on Skate, the early Skate 4 videos were the first time I saw him on video. Blows my mind lol.

EA Skate: Parkour & Casino Simulator

I think for the core audience.. deep in our hearts.. we know its skate 4 because thats what weve all wanted HOWEVER, it will become a fun little inside joke when anyone refers to it as Skate. Sort of like the younger generation wearing Nirvana tees or Thrasher hoodies but couldnt name a single song or skater outside of Metallica or Ryan Sheckler.

i feel like Ive been baited and switched with their play test emails like bro leave me alone if you aren't gonna select me.. Im available on every platform for the 10th time..... Regardless, i hope this game lives up to the skate name. i think a lot of us got into skating even more irl after playing these games.

If I had played the play test I wouldn’t be allowed to say I had… but if I had - which I haven’t… but if I had, I’d say it’s very disappointing how little progress has been made in what, 5 years since they announced this? Still feels so early that it shouldn’t even be in playtesting. I’d be keeping expectations very low.

Their progression has been great and how they interacted and listened to the community feedback. No idea what the monetization will bring but I have a very positive impression of the team that works on the game as well!

Why not just have an option to change the control scheme in the settings. The only answer I can think of is just not wanting to put the time in to do it so laziness essentially?

they don't have to scrap the flick-it system in place of left foot right foot controls. them not adding the session/skater xl controls as an option for those who prefer it is a major miss. There's no reason why they shouldn't, it would only bring more people in

I don’t want my personal favorite control system ever in a skate game to change… like theres a reason i don’t play session or skater XL. I think the devs know that it’s a unique style, and a lot of people including myself prefer it over anything.

8:59 valid point, taking out the skate 3 controls entirely would make it a different game. but what about adding the option to switch your controls (pretty sure you can switch controls in session). i dont see it being extremely difficult for a big developer, especially if creature studios got it. idk i just personally feel like they said theyd listen to the comments and from the comments i saw, people WANT the left foot/right foot. and if they dont want to completely remove the skate 3 controls its fine, but they (imo) should add the option to have left foot/right foot controls. lmk what you think

I’m all for them taking their time. In my opinion the issue is that they announced this years ago and they update us with no progress shown since the announcement. I feel like if they continue this way people will get tired of waiting and the hype for the game will be gone. They need to show a MAJOR update asap.

I’m worried about it being crossplay w/ phones and shit. If that ends up limiting the scope of the game on other platforms, then I think that’s a negative.

Deran says at the end "see you next year in the game hopefully" Fingers crossed that means a full release in 24 not see you in the beta. Perhaps a delay in videos is to unveil a more complete looking game soon.

My hope for the stick system is just like my thought for the new Dragon Ball game releasing, I hope they give multiple control options for these exact instances where people won't have to "dislike" an entire feature because it was/wasn't like X game, like make it a selection option, you select Flick it, and you only play with Flick It players on 1 stick, and for those hardcore players you can use 2 sticks like XL or Session while still just playing with people on the same control scheme, so it wouldn't affect any PvP gamemodes like SKATE or Point challenges, then you also won't have returning Skate players (but not sim/actual skaters) who find the controls too confusing or difficult to sit down and enjoy, but still have those who jump between games because they don't all have the same feels for the different "styles" of skating, I personally use Session for a bit more satisfying realistic trick style stuff, but use SkaterXL for the more fun bits like sending a 900 flip down a stair set, while still going back to Skate 2/3 for that ultimate arcade & simplicity feel.

I personally have not played the pre pre pre alpha version of Skate "." but from what I have seen from others playing it I recognize some of the skate parks from the old games in the pre alpha. Do you think they will bring back any of those old places from past Skate games in the new Skate or are those just place holders because they don't wanna spoil what the brand new San Vansterdam world looks like?

I was waiting for a realistic skate game on PC and was tracking Skate 4 dev progress. Then I discovered Session, fell in love and now I have a strong feeling that EA will not be able to make a better game, especially for realistic skateboarding.

Idk. I think the left foot, right foot is easier. I didn't have to look up how to do tricks on session like I did on skate. I went back to skate 3 and it was kinda difficult compared to session.

EA are axing studios left, right and centre, so wouldn’t be surprised if this gets cancelled tbh.

I get games are harder and take longer to make nowadays, and like the fact they are taking their time to make it the best it can be, but 4 years to still be in pre alpha is a little concerning. I like the gameplay so far, progress is decent it's just so damn SLOW, especially everytime they playtest or show off something to do with the game it's only minor progress and nothing insane. Plus concerns for EA's microtransaction influence but that's another tangent. If this long break from communication has a good outcome and the next time we see Skate it's in beta or something then fine, otherwise it's daunting to see the silence.

My problem is that the physics just are off, and they never seem to improve. I get its a work in progress but they dont seem to change the wierd glitches or physics, how youre constantly randomly kicked off in the middle of a grind for no reason. Aall they seem to do is add new things to do. EA, make the skating good first, then add other things after the skating is good

I suggest you do a reaction video on the board room episode before this, has a lot more info and insight into the game compared to this one

Somthing avout skinny and normal fit jeens while skateboarding just does not feel right to look at. Its like watching some one do the shuffle with skinny jeens or watching a samurai fo his art with skinny jeens. Something about it just feels wrong. Like the smaller pads in modern football the hits seem less solid when they arnt wearing those huge pads they used to in the 90s. To have baggy pants in skateboarding just feels right. Its a core part of street skating.

So im older to the point where i have been around i really hope they dont rush the game because ever since a few n64 games ive been adiment about people taking their time on the game. The perfect example is the last 2 r 3 tony hawks they were jus shoving that trash out every 12 months and the trash gameplay really showed out the trash espically by 5 so im fine with waiting as long as needed to get a dev polished game insted of a company wide shuved out half game
