So this vid is a bit old, and some changes happened in the game and with the Mystic enchants and how they work. But it is still a good Guide for Master of Shadows. personaly i tuned it more like a Shadow Knight/Warrior. Sinister strike and Rupture are still the bread and butter as they trigger the MoS procs, but i also worked in Shadow Bolts casting with Nightfall and Darkness procs for instant Shadow bolts, through Corruption spreading with Pestilent strike (iirc thats how its called) that would spread Corruption to 10yrd when using SS. Shadow strikes ME also add chance to proc Nightfall from melee attacks/abilities and gives you 3% phys & shadow dmg + 80 energy over 8 secs. Macroed Harvest of Souls, Avatar and Pain Suppresion into one for a Metamorphosis Lite( Metamorph disables Shadowform so i avoid using it) Also use Haunt + Wraith ME, Wraith is a modified version of haunt, that deals Massive Shadow dmg over time AND Heals you for the dmg dealt when the target dies or the duration of the haunt is out, and it deal more damage the more Combo points you have since its also a finisher move. The Talent Tree is HEAVELY into Rogue and Warlock with some Priest/Warrior/paladin to boost defenses and CC capacity. Put Rend in it with Primal Rend ME and Siegbreaker as a nice AoE phys attack. The rest is pretty similar, Shadowstep, Cloak of Shadows, Aura of Devotion/Demon Armor/Mage armor for boosting defenses, Flametongue weapon etc

Because of your video, I decided to try this build. I did some tweaks to fit my playstyle and personal preferences. The dps was impressive as is. After making my changes my dps literally jumped 2k and survivability through the roof. So much potential with the build!! Mine has become more of a shadow brawler and it melts almost everything even with my gear currently lacking.

This build is pretty good yes. But not for alar. Its highly focused on singeltarget dmg. Most of encounters and bosses are multitarget fights and you will be last spot in dps with this spec. Even when you fit in cleave.

You should try this build with shadow strike over tides of battle. The instant shadowbolts that regen 30-60 energy depending on your other enchants let's you skip a lot of energy regen talents without feeling it.

currently on my 10th prestige using hands of fate on 3 different specs. on the first i got deathwish but lack garrote and evis, on the second i got bf but lack evis and garrote and on the third i got bf but lack garrote. used like 250 skill cards and didnt get a garrote one ... sad D: but hey man nice video like always, keep up the good work!

Wanting to see Whispers of The Old Gods next. Was trying to make a build, and just can't wrap my head around it. Especially when it comes to having any decent AOE.

This is a great guide to MoS! I would suggest tracking the serrated blades proc independently of your garrote. It is better to refresh your garrote when it is close to expiring if you have a serrated blades proc active rather than fishing for a new proc after your garrote runs out. BR Skygge

Still haven't gotten into raids or mythic on Ascension, but in the normals and some heroics i've seen trash rarely lives long enough for full 5 point Eviscerate on anything. I only use Devouring Plague for on bosses, it's a waste of a GCD to put in on trash that will survive maybe 1-2 Sinister Strikes - i just fish for Nightfall procs with the enchant that gives melee attacks the chance to proc it, keep AoS/MoS as much as i can and spam SoC, which accounts for about 80% of my damage, and i'm no where near the Whirlwind/Bladestorm psychos that consistently do almost 40%-50% more dps than me with about the same gear. I switched to Mos from the Ambush/Hemo build, it is certainly better - but not as good as i thought it would be. MoS is fun to play i'll admit, hopefully it gets better with gear later on. At 35% crit currently, probably need more agility for the SP conversion.

I like this build so much, but have prestiged like 15 times to try and get shadowform, haven't seen it or the card yet. Also the pestilence RE gives it aoe potential for mythic + if you roll corruption. I could see this build really popping off in bc once we get seed of corruption, since it has synergy with nightfall / shadowform

How do you feel about aoe corruption RE with nightfall procs weaved into the rotation? Ive been thinking about taking that with Mental Quickness and the dexterity talent and then running the shadowbolt increased by AP rare REs. Or is that just not worth? Definitely liked the build though and it made me realize I gotta watch tooltips closer. Ive been using strength as my main stat for like a day and a half lol

Trying to play MoS on Al'ar because I burnt out on prestigeing and I happened to get Shadowform on what was originally my Double Down build. At max hands of fate... never seen Aspect of the Beast, Garrote (I've had Stealth since leveling), Seal of Wisdom or a damage cooldown. Only got the devouring plague 3-4 days ago... it has been ROUGH. I am very envious, because I enjoy the build, but I am missing so many important pieces and instead of playing the dot style, it is basically just SS+Evis spam.

i have pretty much all of those skills on an toon that i'm leveling and was thinking about prestiging him.. maybe now i'll give master of shadows a try if i can roll garrote and slice and dice. I also have the finisher that gives mana back, that can help with mana problems

i just made a Master of Shadows without Devouring Plague due to mana problems, instead im using execute with Sudden Death, and improved Execute also Deadly Combos RE

Running this build on my main, I opted for blade flurry & adrenaline rush as I never saw Hunger for Blood (which I get a card after that...).It's helping on packs but unfortunately this build is awesome mostly on ST, find it difficult to be great on multi. I can see you were referring to daguers, not axe/masses any particular reason for this choice?

Been playing this build for a few days now and I really like it, but I just have a question about gear and all that. Do you get as much agi as possible or how would you scale it? I saw that the Elements set give you agi, attack power and spellpower and thought that might be a decent fit for the shadow damage. Thoughts?

Hey, what do you think of taking pestilence as enchant to spread corruption to improve aoe dps?

I know this is kinda old but do you think mind blast would be okay to take for this build considering it is a shadow damage spell plus that extra spell haste might be helpful too so the downtime for casting would be as bad. Still tho I've always wanted to play this build but with me being new to the server I had no idea how to build thank you!!

Hey Deamus, have you considered shifting more weight to spells and use Shadow Strikes epic RE that lets you proc nightfall from melee atacks and thread some shadowbolts into rotation or would that be dps loss?

How do you make your stealth and shadowform action bars different? Every time I pop shadowform, it pulls up my stealth abilities.

Is the main reason for daggers for seal fate talent? seeing as close quarters combat gives an extra 10% crit?

i was about to ask why not take pestilence instead of sinister flurry to fish for more of the night fall procs. then though well that may not be something everyone is looking for. then i though in the words of Oprah dots for everyone. i dont feel combo point gen is an issue and even in retail as a rouge evis and rupture arent killing most people. i feel pestilence is a much better option as it not only give some aoe dmg im pve but also more pressure in pvp as you are alreadly specing into increased shadow dmg

How is master of shadows better? 3 stacks of apprentice %24 spell haste seems a lot better than 10% damage, and 10% crit?
