9 Extra Vital Tips: 1. Practicing multiple gods in the solo role in casual games will help you learn which gods win which match-ups; after playing as or against a certain god dozens of times, you'll also start to recognize how much damage each character's abilities can do at each level/game phase. 2. If you are a god that relies on burst more than prolonged engagements, try to get your damage off and yip when fighting characters that thrive off prolonged fights. 3. If your blue is close to coming up, expect that the other team's blue is coming up as well, so the jungler may try to gank and kill you. 4. If your jungler is close by, there is a very good chance that the enemy jungler is as well; junglers tend to sweep across the map in similar patterns/follow each other. 5. If the enemy solo laner is lower than you with no possible way to 1v1 you for a kill yet still approaches you, 90% of the time they aren't crazy, there is a gank coming. 6. Diving tower to kill an enemy is almost never worth it; if you trade death for death, you are usually causing the both of you to fall behind xp wise and keep each other balanced gold wise, which is not beneficial since the other gods on the map are usually still soaking up farm and getting ahead of the two of you. Also, if you've already killed the enemy once or twice, they will be worth almost nothing, so if you trade, they are generally being allowed to catch up to you since you'll be worth a bit more gold. 7. Watching item progress in the early stages can prevent first-bloods; if the enemy has finished boots and you haven't, then you need to back off. 8. Destroying the tier one tower too soon can be detrimental; when the tower is there, it will kill minions thus keeping the enemy from getting that gold (or as much gold), giving a pretty significant lead in gold if enough minions reach the tower when the enemy god is not there. Also, when tier one is destroyed, the enemy has more "safe space" to farm since they are closer to their base. (Enemy can back and return to tier 2 much quicker than tier 1, thus saving themselves more farm). 9. The easiest way to beat your opponents is to master a character that is not typically seen a whole lot in solo play (I.E. Fenrir, Camazots, etc.). Players typically will have no experience facing "new" characters, and may not respect the damage that results.

It is totally a comprehensive guide that covers all the basics and a few nuances that will give you an edge if the other laner is not aware of them. Good video man, Just some clarification on boxing/trading in case anyone does want to know the difference. Boxing is hitting the enemy where possible but prioritising not getting hit. Trading is taking hits in order to land some.

I think I have faced you in solo on many occasions Intersect. Love the video, Season 5 really feels like solo lane is back again. Constant slap fights, no dumb bluestone, deathstoll, or babysitting jungler and, most importantly, losing a lvl 1 fight doesn't feel like you automatically lose the lane anymore (in the chance that you do lose).

teleport is actually great now with the bigger map, most pro solo laners take it. Stone of gaia should pretty much be a core item and you should look to build it among your first items. If you are going against a bellona and you have the option to interrupt her clear at lvl 1, be careful to hit the wave too, otherwise she will outclear because she still has her bludgeon attacks. If you are playing amaterasu, do not even think about going dash at lvl 1 and try to interrupt her clear, you will have no clear and she will just bludgeon the minions before you even get to the archers. Also, as you can notice in the video, Achilles did go for the interrupt on bellona's clear at lvl 1, yet he still got outcleared. Great video, man :)

If anyone needs helo deciding when to rotate, a great oppurtunity is when you shove a wabe under tower, proxy the next and head mid. You buy yourself alot of time without worrying about a tower

I love picking up stone of gaia first in solo lane. The sustain you get from it is just so good. Negates the need for a blue buff too.

I've been maining solo for 2 years now. And I still learned a lot of stuff from your video inters3ct... Thx If Someone who is just joining Solo is going to take one thing from this list please let it be what he said in the teamfight section: 15:31 That is exactly what you want to be doing as a Solo lane in the late game.... Being a Harasser..... Getting in the Mage and Hunter's face and just don't let them do anything, your job is to neutralise those late game carries and not let them have any impact in the team fight. Also if you see their solo laner for example an Osiris diving your backline make sure to back up and support your carries and don't let the Osiris kill them. The Osiris will be forced to leave to die. With the Osiris on the run, the enemy team will have a lack of Frontline Pressure/Tanking potential so make sure to push the enemy team either back to base or under tower/Phoenix depending which is closer. That will give your Team the possibility to either go for the Gold Fury or Fire Giant depending which is closer to your teams location. If you do not successfully push the enemies all the way back to either Tower, Phoenix or Base don't bother going for Gold Fury or Fire Giant unless they don't have any long range steal potential. For Example if they have a Thoth or a Ra he will easily be able to steal the gold fury or fire giant with their long range secure\steal potential

Lot of bad solo laners tend to blame their junglers for dying a lot. Apparently they missed the name of their role, as in "Solo" lane, your job is to stay alive and keep your tower alive unless its a full enemy team rotation. Sure Junglers are good with helping Solos too but if the Solo relies on a friendly jungler to survive in Solo lane, he's simply bad and has the wrong mindset for the lane. If you want to play Solo, you have to be prepared for the fact you might have to play vs 2 players all alone, ward and play accordingly.

What about rotation? I recently fought a bellona- we were clearing waves- until level 5 and she began rotating and stuff like ganking middle lane. Question is, what and when do I have to rotate? I always stick in my mind that destroying towers is a priority but is it the correct mindset? Or do I have to rotate when I reach level 5?

I agree on everything except Teleport relic being a counter relic, it's really good right now in all situations, let's you finish boots early and even go aggressive right after boots

Im struggling with being a aggressive laner, my matches are often 20mins of boxing w no tower being taken by each side, i have the defensive stay on buffs, clear lane keep healed part down.. but I struggle w the finishing on a kill, right now i play alot of tyr, ravana , cerb .. any tips on how to b aggressive?

Most of the time u will also go get ur blue after the first wave, especially if u outclear cus u can get the xp of the camp and hit 2 right away

It's inevitable during the learning of the solo lane that you will at times be up against someone who just stomps you either due to matchups or just a better laner; i myself am trying to get into solo lane again after not playing it since season 3 and i often get behind early

What gods are good for proxy farming? And against what gods shouldn't you do it? I'm getting into solo lane and i always feel like im not far enough ahead to proxy, so i never do it, which i think is a waste of potential.

Good guide, but right now thorns is a must have every game. Damage meta means thorns is always a good pickup, and likely will be a god pickup at least until midseason

I enjoy playing hades in solo. Since he used to be a tank and has really good cc and self heal you can build him with defense and cool down and pretty much outlive any poking.

Hera is op solo with guardian blessing. Just spam to thin wave and poke then you get a 70 second cool down every 2 waves you get that op golem.

I know you mentioned ymir can be played but you mentioned him as an after thought. When I'm fact he is a very good solo and actually wins lane in a decent amount of match ups.

3:50 - teleport is actually meta right now, it's not a niche pick, also gods like TYR want blink the most, otherwise it's not the best idea at lvl 1. Thorns at level 1 also is a no-no. Baka solo is not a decent pick in any world, if you want an off-pick go mage solo like thoth, aphro.

I main solo and this is a pretty good guide but teleport isn't a niche or okay relic as it was in s4. This season teleport is almost necessary. Also i wouldn't recommend getting a power item as a solo laner. Unless you're super ahead. Also breastplate is not worth tbh. Much better options Other than that youre on point

I like solo because it’s pretty much top lane in league. But there’s so little kill pressure in lane where after a certain points it’s a snooze fest. Having a Guan Yu or Tyr having an endless noodle fight can get super boring.

Cursed ankh to me always feels terrible, sprint is kinda with it in the regard of feeling useless but has potential i usually find it somewhat ok, also anti crit really it doesnt even feel rewarding and hide of nemean actually feels better

I have over 4500 hours playing smite (90% of that in solo) and I have not once actually seen a content creator who actually knows what they’re talking about *ahem* mythymoo and punkduck (and somehow hirez sponsors their channels??). But today I can safely say I have found a Smite content creator that actually isn’t a complete idiot and does my role proud :’)

your reccomended build lacks hp, and genjis its pretty bad compared to pestilence/bulwark. I never build it, and I never see it built. CDR its important, but its much more important than you can frontline effectively, that includes even tiny things like decreasing the adc lifesteal and so on. So build pestilence pretty much always. I liked the video however, just giving my impressions.

If you play duel and want to play more conquest, stick to solo lane. I used to be a duel player but I got more friends to play smite so I came to conquest and I always win solo lane easily.
