I think one thing that you might be missing is that for people going to a 9:00 to 5 job at either an office or a mill some factory or whatever but mowing lawns and being in control of your time it's much better than what they're doing. Anytime you can be your own boss it's a plus. Maybe you've grown tired of lawn care.

100% this. I spent 20 years working in the office. By year 10 I couldn't stand being inside. I've retired now and I spend all day outside on my own lawn.

Brad, sometimes the work we do just sucks, but that said, when we get home, and everything is put away, and you realize you conquered the day. It's priceless! I know you are killing it out there! Why else would you do it? The work you do is an honest living, most importantly! You're also teaching your children a good work effort. Trust me, as a hard worker myself, my daughter watched when she was a little girl, and has become a hard worker herself. She's now a Masters Degree graduate, and is now working on her PhD. This is what we need more of, in this country, to turn things around! Thanks Brad!

All jobs have their drawbacks. I work in corporate America doing project work and make a great living but the work changes every 6 months to a year that layoffs are commonplace. I would much prefer to have a job that was guarenteed versus a job that was constantly changing and always being worried about finding the next role to fill.

This is one of the most critically honest videos on KZfaq! As you note, there's a big difference between doing this as a BUSINESS compared to doing it as a second income or on the weekends. I cut only 5-6 yards (rental properties), and the prep - and unloading - time is sometimes efficient, sometimes slow. And yes, it's the heat. By the end of July, I'm tired and usually very bored of the mundane routine; I want to pay someone to finish the rest of the year! I'm in Missouri, but I truly can't imagine how much longer you Florida guys put in before you might get to blow some leaves. Maybe that's why you Florida guys are ready for the nursing home by the time you hit 50? 😵‍💫 Hang tough, my friend.

Florida is great because we mow into November and start again in March, very little down time, good cash flow, usually I do odd jobs or handyman services in the winter. Proper outfitting, a gallon of Gatorade, and midday lunch and I’m solid for 10 hours. I’m in my 30s and have not slowed down any, I attribute that to still loving the work, but I bet I’ll be toast by 60.

@@edmontonlivermoore4935 i agree. IM in GA and we mow from March till November....also theres others services to offer like aeration or overseeding. Weed control. Landscaping. So basically you can work year around....also im 40 and i still feel really good. I drink water and eat good. Heat aint that bad...its just common sense. If you feel too hot go get in the air condition and cool off. lol i mean i feel ppl are soft these days. i do 10 properties a day solo at 40yrs old and im off by 2pm...im also retired military so this is just extra but i grind like its all i have. southern dudes just built different lol

I do this as a business and tho it’s not easy, it’s not boring and I do more than just mow which is prolly why it’s not boring. But I’ll never use jobber again. Landscaping is not for old people. The older you get the harder the work gets. And you really start to feel it when you do get older.

im really glad to see someone with transparency. not everyone realizes the hours you really put in as a solo or even running a crew. it was nice to see you highlight some key points such as time on the job, different accounts and all the prep work that goes in to it. this is the first video ive seen of yours but ill definitely be looking at some more or your videos. if you dont already, have one, i think a good video explaining more of the benefits this line of work has to offer such as the relationships you build with clients, the doors that open up with other companies and a little bit of the day to day like enjoying the outdoors the sense of accomplishment you get after a major transformation and more in depth with the maintenance.

alot of lawn companies down in florida, pretty sure copper is outta florida dont mess with stripes much simply cause of the breed of grass down there. Centipede can be striped but it wont hold it more than an hour or two unless ya reel cut it. not really worth the extra effort unlike northern grass.

can get you in a load of trouble depending on ordnances in ya area too. In late july early august I've gotten noise violation tickets for turning on my mowers before 7am -_- I hate yards within city limits. unincorporated county you can make one heck of a racket all day and all night and no one can do nothing about it, go inside the city limits and there goes the days earnings.

Hey man i work for landscaping company, i want to get anyones opinion on this. What do you think about the boss getting more houses to do when we're understaffed. We only have two crews doing around 100+places. And get this the boss goes home ealry at 3 when we're still working still 4 30. I personally think this is bs, because if one person doesn't show up everything is fucked since we have a lot of work. The crews consist of me and two others, and 3 others in the other van so 6 in total not including the boss. Im thinking of quiting. Being overworked whille the boss jacks off to go home early,

I’m a “boss/owner” of a lawn care company, I can say he’s is most likely doing the admin side at 3-430. Billing, payroll, estimates, answering emails, scheduling and marketing. My job doesn’t stop when I go home or get off work.

If the company is understaffed, bringing on more houses doesnt make much sense, agree with you on that one, but I doubt the boss is just going home and poppin a cold top and laughing like Mr burns as he watchings yall on gps work like lil bees. At the end of the day when my guys go home between 3 and 5pm depending on the day, im still hammering away doing quotes, billing, payroll, driving out to investigate yellow slips [customer complaints] to the point my day dont actually end till around 7 or 8pm.
