In this tutorial, we'll understand how types are handled in the WSDL. We'll also explore the two styles we can choose from for our WSDL - Document style and RPC style.

Hi, First of all you explain the Document vs RPC very clearly. Thanks for that. I have a question on top of it. If Document style is good for XML validation, does that mean with RPC style, we cannot validate our XML message??

Thanks for the great tutorial. You're saying that using annotations we will generate the WSNL and tweak it our way so that we can avoid manual coding.This means ultimately the annotions are ought to ommitted once WSNL is fixed, right ?
@Ruhisee9 жыл бұрын
Hi Kaushik, Thank for the tutorial. I have one doubt. when you changed style back to DOCUMENT from RPC at end why schema document dint have updated partnames as lookupInput and lookupOutput?
@Maybe44337 жыл бұрын
I'm answering that for anyone else who might be wondering the same thing: When we set the name in the java class, we se it under "partName", which is how it appears in RPC style. In Document style it shows up as "name".

There is any way to create a XSD URI per Class used into the Response/Request params?
@richeststrut11 жыл бұрын
What i mean by this is ,everytime the web service impl is changed the WSDL also changes. How are we fixing the WSDLper se ,is this done using the parameters in Annotations which means if specify the service name?

After changing the style back to document.. in the Type document generated I saw input parameter and output result names are again back to default i.e (arg0 and return). Can't we override these values with style as document ??

Is it possible to have multiple schemas inside wsdl:types?
@Char0plet6 жыл бұрын
Wait a minute, on 6.00 you explain why we can have minOccurs="0". Ok we can have 0 input becouse of null, but how we can have 0 output? Why output isnt 1?
@mrwakko57156 жыл бұрын
I was wondering the same... Maybe is by using @Required annotation before the String type... I will try it, let's see... Anyway, THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE TUTORIAL!!!

Koushik, your tutorials are awesome. Just need a clarification on binding style RPC that you mentioned. According to you RPC here, is not Remote Procedure Call but when I looked at this URL www.ibm.com/developerworks/library/ws-whichwsdl/ then I am confused because it says RPC binding style is Remote Procedure Call. Please clarify.
