I’m glad they knew what they had. Kevin’s criticism is ridiculous. The point isn’t that you can get a sponge for cheaper. You’re paying for your kids to look forward to bath time. That’s invaluable for parents. Parents would spend $50 for this if it actually works at getting kids excited.

The sharks heavily underestimate what a parent will pay to make their lives easier while taking proper care of their child. $20 is nothing to make bathtime easier and more fun.

Exactly. I like all the sharks, but they're clueless when it comes to what average people are willing to spend. You can't get a quality plushie for $5 ... And this serves a purpose, it's not just sitting on some kid's bed. $20 is reasonable and I'd spend that on this.

it may seem like that because of the way they edited the pitch. there’s so much information that we don’t know and didn’t hear, this pitch could’ve been an hour or longer for all we know, and we see less than ten minutes of it.

No more like they could easily get do everything to avoid competition and get approved parents etc. The risk that these guys had at the time could easily be solved by them but they probably didn't see the worth of putting all that money for a small percentage. They probably also wanted to tons different route with it than the guys did.

Of course you can get cheap one like carnival animals stuffed with styrofoam beads and super thin cloth. But something’s that’s high quality and has a sponge inside is not worth just $5 at minimum I would say $15 but yeah they are not with the program 😂

Good on them for declining both offers, they were horrendous and so greedy. I thought the aim was to get their investment back and make a little money and actually help entrepreneurs. I would pay $20 for one and other mothers will too.

I think what they didn't realize, this was more than a simple plush toy. It was both a plush + scrub toy for children, any parent would be willing to pay $20 for a good plush. They had so many avenues to take this, amusement parks, etc. build up a collab with famous cartoons, etc. They had a TON of growth, and glad to see that they're doing well now. I do think they also underestimated that a parent will spend $20 for their baby, it's a baby product.

In reality they screwed up big. After a year the 1/3 that they refused to give up would have quadrupled their value. Everything isn't always about the feels and Lori made a good point. These guys are creators, but they got hung up on their creation.

This is an old episode from season 6. They stuck to their positions on not taking a deal with the sharks. They made smart decision and Soapsox is doing well and generates $10 million a year now.

It’s funny because this already existed back in the 90’s, just without the animals. They were little pouches for a bar of soap though, meant to be used exactly the same way. I’ve actually seen a few products come to shark thank that are basically “reboots,” of older products.

Wow, before liquid soap my granny used to sew a face washer in half and put all the small bits of unused soap into it to use in the shower. Granted not a toy for $20 but it worked with no soap wasted. It's great that these guys are still doing well, especially since their prices are now around the $10 range 'cos I thought $20 was too high.

That isn't a super hefty price. Stuffies are expensive, and if it makes bathtime fun (coming from a mother of two). It's not outrageous at all

These gentlemen live in eagle rock, which is pretty much a part of LA that majority of family's that earn more than 250k...so they werent focusing on the avearge consumer...so they pretty much priced themeselves out of a deal....cauae those be some potterybarn kids prices 😅😅

This is an episode that shows how out of touch the Sharks are from the average consumer. I'd buy that in a heartbeat for my daughter if she was wanting some new toy for bath time and it actually served a function that made it less work.

I respect the decision. Those people are sharks for a reason. The investors are investing their money at risk and on the other hand the pitcher are valuing their company knowing it will succeed. 33% are you kidding me. That is the whole share gone within 3 persons who are the 2 partners and the shark and that is crazy to me that too for 260k. Rejecting both was a good call.
