How I made a Spanner Wrench. Collet Blocks: amzn.to/2xMpFB0

I got the same collet holder set today. Found your video, and enjoyed the instruction. Just finished making the scanner. I used the smooth shaft of an Allen screw that I turned to .20. I think it’s plenty hard enough. It was quicker for me to use a file instead of the mill, after I roughed it out. Works perfect. Saved me a trip, and some money. Than I subscribed and saw many more of your videos that are of interest. Thanks a bunch.

You're welcome! Thanks for letting me know it helped you. I don't know why they don't come with a wrench.

It's amazing how long I can put off making something easy like this. It took messing up the fly cutter that I made to make me stop and make a wrench to tighten up that nut. Procrastination gets me every time try it! ;)

Great video , I need to make one for my sharpening machine . It uses the er45 collets . I do have a question, where did you get a copy of the wrench . I was going to outline my collet a design a wrench style based on the olcollet outline . I liked your method much better with the wrench copy. Thank you for the video. Big Mex

I don't actually remember where I got the picture. I might have made it in fusion 360 or I might have found it on the internet. Sorry I'm not more help.

You may know this trick by now, but you can zero over the edge of something with an edge finder or whatever your preferred method is then load up the boring head and jog away from edge desired radius' size then crank her out till she touches that edge =)

I had not thought of that but that is a great tip. Thanks for taking the time to tell me. I hope I remember it the next time I need it. There would be times that would be the only way to do it. Thanks!

I was wondering how you made/attached the pin to the wrench. My son cuts them out of 1/4" plate on the CNC Plasma table, and grinds the square pin to somewhat round. The mild steel does not last too long.

At about 5:40 in the video I show that I welded it on. Hope that helps. :)

@@SoatMon Yes, I saw that. I guess I did not make it clear in the comment. We have been looking online for wrenches, but he has decided to try making another by welding the drill rod on. Thank you for the idea.

You would think they would send one with it but they don't. You can't get them tight enough without one. Good luck with your build.
