So far I own two Luminox watches. A 39mm Sea Turtle and a Automatic Sport Timer. LOVE them both.

Beautiful looking watch. Tritium tubes in Luminox watches are awesome. I leave mine on my night stand. Love that steady all night glow! Good review.

I finally got one of these and the dial is so dark that it looks black if the lighting isn't just right. I like it, best of both styles.

Great review. I prefer Seiko’s 2019 ocean’s “great white” turtle back version to this one but definitely looking to pick up the right luminox to add to the collection.

Love the series, but I've always thought blue dials look best with a blue bezel. I feel like a black bezel bring a blue dial down.

I recently purchased this watch and love it... The one thing I'm not a fan of is the hands. I feel like they look kind of cheap and flimsy. I noticed that they do have black hands on some of them... Do you know if theres any way to swap the hands out for the black ones?

Nobody uses a dive extension; literally not one single person on a planet with over 7 Billion people. That’s why Luminox didn’t include the feature at the expense of an adjustment span. These watches are exactly as you stated at the onset … an American/Swiss alternative to a G-Shock; far classier & better looking IMO. G-Shocks look cheap & tacky where these Luminox offerings are clean & straightforward.

Can i ask something, if you don't mind me asking. Is the bezel material wear off from scratch? Also i wonder weight. thanks

I wore mine rock climbing and ended up smacking the bezel on the wall. There is a visible scratch if you look closely but it seems to be the same material and color all the way through. It does not appear that it will wear down from scratches.

How much better is this Luminox compared to a quartz Victorinox Maverick? Although maybe the Marathon Tsar would be a better comparison, but for some reason I thought of the Victorinox first.

Both are comparable watches. I looked at both. Preferred the face on the Luminox and the water resistance (650 ft.) versus theMaverick rated to 10 atm(330 ft.) I will wear mine in the water and feel more confident with the rating of the Luminox.

Just bought a blue one with Orange rubber strap, the shop in NY gave me a spare new stainless steel band in the deal.. ebay to the rescue. steve in Australia ps these watches in Australia are $1000 aussie......................... i saved $400,thanks NY

I bought the traditional black face(can you say that these days?) and stainless steel band. Beautiful watch! Didn’t think I’d like a watch that wide and heavy, but it won me over quickly. Easy to read quickly with my over 40 eyes. Bought mine from a jeweler and paid about 480 for it. It’s everything you say it is.

Not a good deal it shouldn’t be over 300 bucks. 400 max. Quartz movements don’t really have any value.

One major repair bill for an automatic watch will be more than the watch itself.

I disagree. All my Seiko mechanicals aren’t very accurate and I’m not paying more to service the watch than what it’s worth. I’m not taking my expensive mechanicals diving. Quartz is the way to go for watches that will endure abuse. Unless it’s an expensive mechanical, mechanical watches are the ones that are disposable. Nobody is going to pay more to service the watch than what the watch is worth.

Compared to what? It’s on quality par with Seiko, G-Shock line, & most everything else in the $500 - $750 range, so your lack of industry knowledge is showing. Baseless comment from a SMF.
