Gir 360 yes the ride closes in late August for the holiday overlay opens either the first or second week of September goes throughout Halloween Thanksgiving and Christmas (also New Years Eve) closes the first part of January and the reopens to the normal attraction mid January until August that same year where they do it all over again

Ikr...hate Disney sent the version intended for WDW to Tokyo. All because WDW is more tourists & not more locals like DL. But what about us WDW locals? Lol

We can't! DL Haunted Mansion is built differently from ours here in WDW, so the main reason why we don't flip the show building over is because the DL Haunted Mansion has pieces that are explicitly made to be swapped in and out-- and WDW simply doesn't have the opportunity to do the same because it's actually, physically impossible to make over our Mansion to the same degree/scale. (Also we have a gigantic!! gingerbread house set up in G. Floridian every year, though, and huge themed trees in each of the parks!)

I went on September 5th, and this was closed for this version. My mom never liked this version, and it's not the same without Haunted Mansion. Did I mention Space Mountain was closed that day too?

I don't like this version of The Haunted Mansion. I don't think Walt Disney would approve either. I love The Nightmare Before Christmas, but it's only September and this Strays far away from what the original Haunted Mansion was. I'm not saying it's bad. I'm just saying it's unfaithful to the original. Still impressive, very premature considering it's only September.

The thing is, the Halloween event happens mid-September to the last day of Halloween...i believe. Since "The Nightmare Before Christmas" is a Halloween/Christmas disney film, and very popular, they leave it up from the start of the Halloween event to the last day of the Christmas event. It's mainly to give the fans something other than merch. I believe Walt Disney would approve, because it's something different and still works the Haunted Mansion in it for 3 months out of the year.

3 months out of the year? lol try 5 months. September thru late January. Even Tim Burton will tell you that Nightmare Before Christmas is a Christmas movie, since the whole plot takes place during the Christmas season.

@@AlextheHistorian well tec, 4 months. Taking the two halves from Sept and Jan. I miscounted. Even if Tim Burton says its a Christmas film, it still has very Halloween esq themes and characters that live in HALLOWEEN TOWN. Which is why i say "Halloween/Christmas".

Overly busy. The original Haunted Mansion is simple but far more memorable due to its lack of clutter and wonderful theme music. Burton's adaptation is a cluttered mess. That being said, your video is top notch.

Disney has ruined this ride, It was literally like Coca Cola, and then they FUBARd the formula with 'New Coke' and effectively ruined it for 6 months before bringing back what was preferred. Nightmare before Christmas came out in 1994, its no longer relevant or 'hip'. Now if this is only for say the 90 day period and reverts back to the proper ride, then fine.
