Haikyuu being egoistic is not possible, volleyball is a team sport, you can’t even touch the ball twice. Blue lock being a soccer anime is perfect for its idea

@@Jing_Ling_Uncles yep and i would ad blue lock being about striker is perfect for this idea, poeple tend to said football is also a teamsport and i would agree, but like they said while midfielder is a heavy selfless teamplay focused position, striker have to be more egoistical, so it all make sense, (our man talk about Messie, and yes he is a great teamplayer, but no one will make me buy he didnt think he is one of the best player in the world) i just think is view of what is the best player include having good teamwork skill, you could in theory be the more egoistical player in the world and at the same time the best teamplayer in the world, as long ur ego tell you being greath is having a strong teamwork x) ego doesnt nessesary mean lack of teamplay ^^

What I like about this anime, is how they let the characters experience their raw emotions in the moment. They cry, they gloat, they making winning feel really good, because deep down, everyone wants to be a winner, and they make losing feel bad, because in turn, no one wants to be a loser. If you don’t like the way things are, do better. If you want to maintain your position, stay better than the rest. There’s no hand holding, only tough love. You won’t have to feel ashamed for being competitive in blue lock, you should only be ashamed by your skill level. Work hard to reach the goal you set for yourself

The main character , Yoichi Isagi is based on the former Italian player Filippo Inzaghi .

also Thomas Müller, they mentioned it in the manga IIRC. Isagi’s playstyle is very similar to that of Müller using his high football IQ and positioning to score goals
