got the ultra takedown model ((3.4). too narrow around midfoot eventhough I'm wearing my usual size (26 cm). not comfortable at all. planning to sell it after two times playing on it.

I took my son shopping for boots yesterday and he tried on all the top end boots and said the Ultras were the most comfortable for his skinny foot. He wore them to soccer camp today and loved them.

I just tried the new Speedflows and the puma 1.3, 1.2 and 1.1 at a store yesterday and My “personal” favorite was the puma 1.2. I wanted to like the adidas because of the tech, but to me they feel like race runners(which come with carbon in the soul), which from my experience hurt your feet after use, and should only be used on special/important games to make you slightly more explosive. Why I picked the puma 1.2, 1. The soulplate is So light and flexible. 2. The shoe stretches alittle more then the others to form better for your foot. But definitely no where like a Leather cleat. 3. The way the the shoe grips my heel, is way better then the adidas because the adidas pad is too low for my heel. 4. It’s Wider but not too wide. 5. The togue or top of the shoe is much more comfortable and forms better to provide the best fit. (Same with the 1.3) 6. The price, got them for $129 on dickssporting goods, and there shipping is very good.

For my foot, it felt better. But also in defense of the 1.3 I believe the store didn’t have my size, so I may have been a half size down I tried on. Your best bet is to try them all at a store near you.

Sadly, leather loses it's integrity when colored, so the best way to go with leather boots is almost always black. But I feel you on wanting color.

Question? I’m vary specific about fit and size but I’m a size 8.5UK in Mercurials and in EU sizing that’s a 43 and a 43 in these puma boots is a size 9, should I go with size 9 or stick with my size? 8.5 in the pumas is 42 1/2 btw.

Hi Josh, just wondering if the material on these bunches up when you bend your foot? That was a problem with the previous generation Ultras but I imagine that was because of how much volume they had. Wondering if the new material affects things or if the lower volume solves the problem?

You're going to get creases in any thin synthetic boots. With that said, the reduced volume and new shape makes for a lot less extra material compared to the previous Ultra.

Love the video! Quick question, I’ve heard that the outside lining is somewhat “sticky”, do you ever find that the ball gets stuck to your foot causing you to fall over it? Apologies if that’s slightly nonsensical, it’s just my main worry if ever I were to buy the Ultras. Thanks!

Hi, thanks for a great review. With regarding to size, I have trouble with selecting the correct size. I bought Puma Ultra 1.3 size 8 US, (40.5 EUR) to my son. He felt they fit perfect in length but a little bit tight in midfoot. As he plays most of the game on AG pitches, he would like to wear an AG boots instead of FA/AG from Puma. So we bought new one, Nike Phantom GT 2 Pro size 8US ( 41 EUR). They fit even worst. So I just wondering if he needs to go up one size for Nike Phantom GT2? Thanks

Their upgrades will nearly always be better , but I reckon boots up to a year ago are all still “up to par” Edit : I put it in speech marks because technically the boot doesn’t matter but I know what you mean

Both puma and adidas has better lineup than Nike at this stage. Adidas may have a bit of a black spot with the Copa sense but the other two boots are really good

hey john or anyone reading this, i have a question. Ive been wearing fg tiempo legend 6's on artificial grass and I'm wondering if I should stop and switch to ag boots. Im thinking that wearing fg tiempos on ag isn't a bad idea because they have conical studs therefore they have less bite but idk.

Pumas numbering system is confusing. Ultra 1.3 Wasn't the second digit related to the tier ? (".1" the high end, ".2" second tier and so on ?

No, 3.2 aren’t necessarily very good and aren’t even comparable to the 1.3 these boots are amazing and you will get ur money’s worth

I have really slim feet and my foot was sliding from left to right in previous Ultras, so I had to sell them. I bought new Mercs and I'm feeling like in heaven. Very tight and responsive.

Speedflow for sure! Granted they're very different boots from a feel perspective, but I just don't think the Copa Sense+ is very good.
