Social Contract theory explained in 90 seconds

Social contract theory focuses is a philosophical idea that looks at the relationship between people and their government. Some of the philosophical differences arise from debates around how much freedom we should give up to protect our security.

What about the "ownership" of land? Any geologist will admit that the North American continent existed for millions of years before "Native Americans" showed up. So stealing it is fine if you have the fire power to back it up?

And it's enforced on only one of the "parties", and where it's always happens to the same, that "breaks" the "social contract".

0:20. 'This isn't a literal contract that you actually sign...' No kidding huh? Because I don't remember having ever having signed one. And why's it still called a 'contract' anyway? Just cut down to the chase: people obey the laws, which for the most part they have neither been consulted about or have had any input in framing, of a society because if they don't there's the standing threat of being punished through the loss of property, liberty, reputation and even life in some cases (or even a lot of cases if you're just suspected of having broken the law if you're Afro-American in the US). Anway, that's 1 minute and 34 seconds that I've wasted only to have it confirmed to me that the whole notion of a "social construct" is nonsense talk.
