After multiple errors by SSA, Hiller declined to litigate my SSI disability claims for myself and daughter. I had no choice but to go it alone. After 9 months of no real resolution or knowledge of imminent resolution, I did what my Drill Sgt. often suggested, " don't like it ? write your congressman".... I did, I filed a Congressional inquiry. Only 3 days before the hearing did I meet with a Congressional Rep. on the matter. On the day of the hearing, a decision was already made in my and my daughter's claims before I could even argue my case. The Congressional inquiry investigated our claims and discovered many agency errors that almost sought to destroy our claims as well as to charge almost 7 thousand dollars of what they called an "over-payment". Long story short ... Hiller is not a PRO BONO ATTORNEY, and will ONLY accept SURE-FIRE CLAIMS that most people can resolve on their own. My advice is to go it alone. Write your Congress and request a Congressional inquiry. Fair warning ... be eligible for benefits and follow up on progress. If your case has languished, or been neglected, or even wrongfully adjudicated, Congressional inquiry is all you need... A legal retainer fee called "TAXES" has already been paid for your Defense

I filed on line myself and made sure my Dr and the hospitals knew to look out for Social Security paperwork. I was told by a man that worked for the third party company that reviews the paperwork and gives their opinion to Social Security to call everyday to check on the status. I called everyday and I was approved in 3 months. However, I knew nothing about the 5 month waiting period where you don't get paid?! So by the time I get my first check I could be homeless. I thought you got back pay but of you get approved quickly like I did, I have to wait 2 more months to get a check. I think that's a bunch of bull. I have been approved and I paid into this, they should give me the money now! My God if I could work I would be working. I don't want to lose my home and car. Oh well I guess I'm supposed to happy that I'll get a check in March.

I filed ssdi myself and got approved in 5 months. Could of done it along time ago

A lot of the people on this plan are able to work at something. Unless your blind or deaf a person can talk on a phone, run a computer etc. by voice command. I know people who abuse this important benefit. Many of us know somebody like this.
