My first judge denied my claim because (and this was written in her decision as well as untruths) the judge asked me what I like to do for hobbies. I’ve had to give up all my hobbies, finding it hard to answer her, I answered that I watch Hallmark movies. This judge denied me because she said I could sit and watch a movie and focus on what the movie was from beginning to end. She didn’t ask if I took breaks, fell asleep, etc. My time to get to this judge took 3 years. She chose not to consider many of my disabilities and listed them. She chose not to even talk about my pain clinic doctor, when at one visit, I had a seizure and my pain clinic doctor had to call the crash cart. I could write a book on this. She denied me and said that I could sit at an assembly line and put nose pieces on glasses for 8 hrs a day/ 5 days a week. With my health, this is so ridiculously impossible. I got a new lawyer and started all over. It took me 2 years to get to the new judge. This judge approved me in a week. But I lost everything waiting. I started in 2014 and was finally approved in 2020 while having breast cancer. I wanted to die. Depression and hopelessness was and still is real. Also, the judge found that the DDS’s working at SS were not credible in their denials of my first application and upon reconsideration. Indeed they weren’t honest. Omission of information in my thousands of pages of medical documents and cherry picking information. I was so fortunate to get an experienced military ALJ the 2nd time. I will forever be grateful for him. He had both mental and medical doctors at my hearing and listened to them as well as read all my actual records.

That is an atrocity !! I know beyond a shadow of a doubt they investigated you. I'm sure that money should have been spent better with someone coming out to trimming your trees and doing the laundry. Since you didn't get anything that also means you don't have insurance. Remember the Murdaugh case ?

@@cindybain6054 your comment is confusing. I have no idea if they investigated me or not, I doubt they did because I am 95% house ridden. Actually live in an apartment... and have nurse-level help.

I wouldn’t call it the DDS’s issues. I’ll explain it as easily as I can. Problem lies with an outdated job search system- Occubrowse. This system contains jobs that don’t even exist anymore. It hasn’t been updated since the 1990s. Secondly, the system it’s rigged against those who are younger. If you’re less than 55, then your chances of being approved quickly diminish. The listings are nearly impossible to meet or equal and congress made out that way on purpose so that there would be less people qualifying for benefits. To put it simply: if you are under 55 and get a light residual functional capacity rating, then you don’t get assistance because they don’t deem you as disabled. However, if you get a sedentary and your work wasn’t sitting in a chair all day, then you’re approved. The system doesn’t make any sense to me. I work doing this job, but trust me when I say I FIGHT for my claimants on a daily basis. I actively listen to them, take into consideration what they say, and then determine this based on the medical records AND the interview with my claimant. When you’re denied, it isn’t because we wanted to deny you, it’s because there was nothing we could do to convince the doctor at DDS to give certain criteria for you to be an allowance. It’s hard being an examiner. Why do I stay? I’m determined to change and challenge the system. People like yourself are WHY I stay.

The Social Security Administration should be required to accept VA disability as predetermined disabilities. I am not saying everyone getting VA disability should get SSDI, but they shouldn't have to prove yet again something already proven. Also, if the VA determines that you are unemployable because of your disabilities the SSA should also take this into consideration. They did until 2017, but no more, this makes no sense. This slows down the process and leads to disapproval's of veterans who are unable to work due to their service connected disabilities. No veteran who has a documented disability should be required to go to a SSA doctor who only looks at a high level and makes judgements based upon seeing the veteran just once versus their many documented visits to the VA over the years. Last of all the whole process is broken even for non veterans, my sister-in-law was only approved for SSDI one month before she passed away after waiting years.

Just an FYI- Jacki Russell has a disability herself. She has one eye and is partially blind due to that one eye. She has poor vision in the other eye and has to wear glasses. It is able to be corrected though as you can see here. I can advocate for Ms. Russell as she is actively trying to fight for the claimants here and make it easier. There is one other thing that angers me to no end- OCCUBROWSE. It has not been updated since the 1990s and yet analysts are still using it to determine whether or not someone's prior job skills can transfer. This is something Jacki Russell is actively trying to change. I commend her for it as these Congressmen/women do not care. The only way to fix this is to get more Progressive people in who care about the well-being of the country.

FFS can Ways & Means find the ways and means to upgrade their microphones or DSP? Whoever the engineer is here, PLEASE program a click-pop filter GUI. Social Security process updates are taking over 20 years to roll out/implement? That is absolutely horrible. I dont know why the Fax issue is such a surprise - all Hospitals still require faxes smh

The retirees affected by this are public servants who along with their employers both paid their contributions as required. It is totally unfair to take 60 % away from them, especially in these hard inflationary times. Take monies being spent on all of the illegals and foreign countries and put it into the SS funds. Take care of Americans first.

Please look at ALJ Approval ratings. You have some ALJs that approve 20% of claims and others that approve 85% of claims. The approval or denial of your claim depends on the luck of the drawl on who you get. Which was the case for me. I had a judge that had an approval rating of 34% (A 36 yr old female judge) to the judge (A 64 year old Military Judge) who approved me and had a 60% approval rating. Exact same medical records for both judges!! There needs to be streamlining and ALJ’s not acting as doctors and giving “their” medical opinions and choosing what they look at and ignore rather than looking at all the evidence.
