Oh my gosh. I actually started WCS two months ago. It is harder than I expected, but it is also so much fun! I must say, after each class I review the moves using your videos. They are super helpful. So thank you for all your work!

Wow, you guys are truly great. My question is how to match a dance style at a club that doesn't really fit into a category. For example, would it make sense to do the hustle with Tropical Deep House Music? It looks like it would work as long as I keep the proper tempo?

It sounds like it is 8 count music so technically you can do any style that feels like it fits except waltz. With the upbeat bounce to it, something like hustle, salsa, cha cha, or wcs might fit well

As a trained competitive follower, at times when I social dance I get an untrained leader who jerks me around such as pulling me in hard when attempting advanced ballroom patterns. What can I say diplomatically to set boundaries without being offensive?

That's always a tricky question! My short answer is to be honest in your concerns. Maybe saying something to the effect of "please be gentle, I have bad shoulders" That 'usually' puts people on notice to take care. In the unfortunate case that it does not, I would have no problem declining a dance (and again being honest) "I'm sorry I have trouble following those patterns and it's hurting me" I hope that helps a bit.
