Obviously Russia is not a Communist enclave today but Putin has recognised the cultural imperative of Russians, that of the imperative of social conservatism. Russian Communists today uphold the social traditions of Russia,this is why Putin embraces them despite him being a shape shifting Conservative, for want of a better word. Okay so if I understand the argument, its that any boycott should be lead by trade unions and workers refusing to deal with arms shipments to Israel, followed by revolutionary action in their own countries? I mean that isn't the same as a blanket boycott but they have a point and it's not NOT a boycott either. Engaging with the dynamics of capitalist imperialism on its own terms probably is a dead end in the long run. It's an argument I'm open to, and will read more about.
