Socks from Eliabad, Zaqatala.

Күн бұрынThese socks were made by Dilare's grandmother. Dilare wanted to learn how to knit but they wouldn't let her when she was young, and when she was older her grandmother couldn't see to teach her. Dilare is part of the Ingiloy people group (language is similar to Georgian) living in Zaqatala.

I am so surprised upon this channel. if I look at the different village styles, not created by stupid designers, no, here you feel the atmosphere of the outstanding qualities and varities of villages from southern causian mountains. Old lades like this are able to bring this fantastic pattern into kilims, sumachs and rugs in the old bright style. you have to hurry up, if they die one day, it is over...

Because of that I started collecting those patterns for slippers and socks more than 25 years ago, before they disappear...

@@VeryFarEast it is so good, t´zjat the last roots of the great time more then 100 years ago are still a little bit alive. I try to come next year to Azerbaidschan and Dagestan to travel through the mountains , to see, if there are some producers with some quality alive. Hope we can meet:-) have a good start into 2023:-)

@@safranpollen I wish I could travel to those places. Its my dream for many years, I have a list if villages I need to visit, but I do not live in Russia so its not easy to organize. Still I have a hope I will do it one day.

Последний джураб - так вяжут в селе Бежта Цунтинского района. Там свои названия есть для этих обвитых петель, и их 3 вида.

Как интересно! Да, эти группы людей находятся близко друг к другу, поэтому у них, вероятно, есть схожие методы.
