Yes! It's so good to be able to still play SOCOM II, it's still amazing! Our Community has been steadily growing especially recently, lots of new people all the time, a few nights ago we had over 100 players on and it was awesome!

It was a great thing to be addicted to! Nothing can compare to the nostalgia that S2 brings me. We all hope it makes a come back, we're grinding to bring in new players and Aydan bringing us this spot light was an incredible gift, I hope he plays more!

I loved this game. So many memories from elementary. Used to bring my slim to my cousins and we’d all LAN party. So much fun omg. Ninja jumping and frost fires tank glitches bring back a lot haha. Thanks for this

I remember playing SOCOM 2 online on Playstation 2 when I was a freshman in high school. It was like the biggest thing when socom came out and had online play, game changer for ps2. They even sold a socom bundle for PlayStation 2 that came with a good headset and everything.

Oh man, the campaign was great which I just finished and will be uploading to my KZfaq very soon, the online was definitely the best part of the game, the competition was unmatched! There's people who are playing in these servers with us who used to watch their dad play and never played the online themselves and they love it, I would definitely recommend giving it a shot, there's no game out today like SOCOM 2 onlien!

Eskimo_Bob [DoA] - Disciples of Apocalypse. Our maps were Sujo Terrorists, Chain Reaction SEALs, and Nightstalker SEALs. We were on GameBattles and everything. Pretty decent rank. The clan wars were soooo epic. Best part of the game. It was like actual life or death for us 😂 God i miss these days. Wish i knew if the boys were doing alright. Its probably been like 15 or more years now. PSYCHOSOMATIK, Gordon, Shughart, WAR, Raab, and more i cant remember. Great times id do anything to go back to. Spent many weekends laughing hysterically, perfecting our favorite maps and tactics, and having trash talk battles with other clans in the pre game lobby lol. (fighting to see who could hold the mic the longest) Wish yall could see this and hope you are doing well.

I'm glad to hear that! There's nothing like GB battles, we try our best to replicate them today but still, GBs were amazing. Yes the best part of the game was the 1 life per round made you take your life much more seriously, the games were so much fun and I would easily play all day! Who knows, we have a lot of OG players, maybe you'd know someone!

I grow up on socom 1-2-3 i was 13 years old when socom 2 came out I had some many memories and good fun times playing t this game felt like the gun play was a little better on socom 2 socom 3 was good also when we all converted to ps3 to play confrontation I lost interest in socom it wasn’t never the same after that

Same! I started on SOCOM 2, went back and checked out S1 and loved it, played tf out of S2 then S3, then CA, then played Confrontation for a while. Confrontation didn't quite do it for me back in the day, it just felt too different, and SOCOM 4 was awful.

Another cool feature for those that are fans of the SOCOM campaigns, while you can't use the push to talk feature online currently, you can still use the push to talk feature in campaign to issue commands to your team. Now we just need someone tech savvy to somehow utilize the push to talk coding in campaign and integrate it into the multiplayer somehow.

Late to this video but as a SOCOM 2 player myself using the dualshock 5, I was recently made aware that in order to crouch and stand consistently you must use a Dualshock 3 controller (PS3) hope that info helps those that struggle with their gameplay due to that limitation

Well actually you can do stand/crouch/prone and dolphin diving on the other controllers as well, it's just that the PS3 controller has the pressure sensitivity built into the triangle button so you can do it with one button, this video shows you how you can do all of that on the other controllers, it uses a PS4 controller as the example but it works for all controllers, check it out: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fbOFepWWt9-8eKM.htmlsi=qiJnzduj_bMojGB-

i remember grinding this game on ps2 non stop holy shit! I would definitely bring myself to play this game again. I have always loved SOCOM II. the only thing is that i need to setup my pcsx2 properly because it runs this game all sluggish and even the audio is slow

@@RazorDak92 Bro my confrontation runs beautiful feels like i have it on 60 fps or higher because of my tv lol. Socom 2 and 3 i was attempting to play on the console but those graphics look bad man yours looks way better on the emulator lol. Im making one last attempt at trying to run it with a component cable on one of my older tvs lol. I just tried installing the emulator but its giving me and error of '' Your computer may have insufficient resources or incompatible hardware/drivers'' only thing i can think of is the video card i have on this computer which is a intel iris xe graphics card because the processor is real good like a 11th gen intel i7 and 16gb of ram and the video card.

Sorry about the late response, sometimes KZfaq doesn't send me a noti, I do think that Scon looks better on PS3 without running it through my PC for streaming because I have to run it through a HDMI splitter and a capture card so I think it degrades the signal unfortunately. I used to play SOCOM on PS2 using the component cables and I felt like it looked amazing lol. I am not familiar with that error I would def recommend submitting a ticket because it might be something dumb Do you play any other games on PC?

Honestly, I agree. I played the hell out of SOCOM on PS2 growing up but the way game has evolved it's so awkward to go back. You have to be really motivated or nostalgic to go back and put in the time and effort

We play it using magic! Well, technically we play it on a server revived by a couple of incredible people which have it open to the public, but it feels like magic to me! You can play it on a PS2 (you need a free mcboot memory card which is like $10-$15 on ebay), or on a PC which is how I play, you still have to use a controller. No the M16 isn't banned in pubs but if a person makes a room saying no this or that weapon then you can't use it, 90% of the time the M16 is fine to be used. But I agree, it's a gun that's available on both side so I don't mind it being used.

Yes this could be so good, tonight we've had about 76 players which is amazing! At 1 point we had 3 full rooms and a 4th with 15 in it, so amazing. And yes JAWS killed it

lol it's very difficult to aim on SOCOM, have you tried adjusting your aim sensitivity? You can do that in game by pressing Circle and going to the menu.

Well when you think about it, no modern day games play the way SOCOM plays so in terms of no aim assist and strafe battles and only shooting from the hip, you realize there's no games like it. It's very difficult but it's rewarding, I hope you stick with it!

@@RazorDak92 That is the truth. Full auto hip fire is super difficult making it feel like you are shooting a real gun. The main two tricks to shooting in SOCOM is that no matter what gun you use if you shoot a single shot at a time every shot will always have perfect accuracy and the second trick is that everyone is exactly the same hight so once to get your crosshairs to head height side step to aim instead of trying to move the crosshairs

No you don't need a special disc, for Socom 2 though you do need a free mcboot memory card which can be found on ebay for about $10-$15. Socom 1, 3, and Combined Assault you do not need that, all you need is the disc, a PS3, internet, and to connect to their server. Well Aydan claimed that he played Combined Assault and then he and his Dad and some other family members played Confrontation, but I don't know much beyond that. He was definitely excited to play Socom 2, he had a lot of good things to say about it afterward, it's a shame he hasn't come back though.

@@nervs6199 Oh I agree, he definitely didn't fully understand the game but I enjoyed playing with him through the night where, he was excited and clearly enjoyed it, I hoped it would encourage people to come back but I don't think it had much reach unfortunately. I also wish they would bring Socom back, it's better than any MP out there!

@@EQOAnostalgia Better hit detection, better movement, better graphics, and all the good maps from Socom 1,2 and 3. Its not even close. I get it, Socom 2 started it all but Socom 3 and CA improved on it. Except for the big maps. I was not a fan of big maps.

I really like S3, CA is fun but S3 is the better of the two. S3 and CA are smoother games, smoother mechanics and such, but the nostalgia of S2 is what keeps me playing.

I'll agree with you on a few points, SOCOM 2 is my favorite but I won't say you're wrong for preferring S3 and CA. Those games had great maps and played very well, I played the hell out of S3 and CA back in the day and I still loved it.
