That rainbow rose is GORGEOUS!! 🌹🌈 I like the Sharpies better because the hard nib of the Posca is always chewing up my paper, and it often floods on me. I was able to achieve a brush effect with the soft foam of the bullet nib! 🤗😍

I knew there was a new sharpie but I forgot what it was. But everytime I see a Sharpie display I've been checking for something new. It's paint markers. Now I know what I'm looking for 😅 Maybe they're not in Canada yet? 🇨🇦

You can bake glassware decorated with paint pens in the oven. It makes it permanent. I don't put my mouth on the design but I did a T-rex "Hold on to your butts!" mug 2 years ago. It's black Posca outline on a white mug. It's still looking 95% the way I drew it after daily use. I don't recall time/temps but a quick search will fill you in.

I just recently got the Sharpies and I'm in love. The brush pens are my fave because I can get the finer details. Your cats are so cute! Anakit always has to help me crafting too. Tory used to steal my stuff and hide it under the area rug. She'd pick up the edge with her paw and slide stuff under there. Your rainbow rose is beautiful.

This is super interesting. Thank you for the analysis. I’ve spent a couple years trying to show people that Posca isn’t going to stay the industry standard if their quality keeps dropping. I didn’t think it would be Sharpie of all brands to throw its hat into the ring.

I got some poscas recently and the quality is definitely different. I even tested them against my older ones and old ones with used nibs performed better than the brand new ones.

Interesting. I’ve never loved posca, I found that they globbed paint, and tore up paper. I’m excited to try the Sharpie.

the sharpies look amazing, but i do wonder if the poscas would do better after being shaken up a lot? if the sharpies were brand new and the poscas were sitting for a while, maybe that could make a difference? I feel like my poscas need shaking to get full opacity if i haven't shaken them in a while. which could be a downside all in itself, but it would be an interesting comparison

Hullo Sarah, I have been looking for a better paint pen than Posca! It is just not good on papers and I have had real troubles with brick! I believe the brush nib on the Sharpie is just more difficult if you are used to a real brush in your painting practice. I really like that you tried the Sharpie's on so many surfaces! I did guess the top popcicle stick too! I have been trying out the Karin brush markers the DECO and BrushPro versions. The tips are quite soft and they are the best so far, for paper! Your rose is lovely and you should try a background or fill it in with some greenery. See ya real soon!

I love my new Sharpie paint pens/markers. I got them the moment I saw them in the store and they need more colors. 8:25 I still have my owl painting I did from your tutorial on my wall ❤️ 14:32 the Sharpies have a bolder color than Posca. I like both for their uses. I use Pintar paint markers for cost vs Posca. Sharpie paint pens has my heart right now. I used Sharpie to paint on bells, then sealed them with a waterproof mod podge.

For the rose the posca side looks more glossy, while the sharpie side looks more aesthetic-y

The Sharpie paint pens are the first paint pens I've used! And I'm liking it! The black is SO black, you can see the difference on a black cardstock! I wish that the makers at Sharpie would include more colors into the paint pens, because I doubt you can mix them for different shades and colors. It also helps that not ONLY did they come in two different nibs (Bullet and brush), but the price is affordable as well! Again, my only wish is that the Sharpie paint pens had more colors in future separate sets, because it worked with the Sharpie markers.

Also, sharpies been made paint markers before they had to brush tip and bullet tip. They had the press down markers, shake, and press down markers like Pasca they still sell them.

7:05 Your Posca pens look like they sat for a while without being used and need to be shaken well. When the paint is properly mixed they will be just as vibrant on black paper.

I was wondering about how the Sharpies smelled. I remember using Sharpies for work to do redactions and always had a hard time with the strong chemical fumes.

How long does it take for the sharpie painted rocks to dry? I teach senior citizen craft classes and I’ll be doing rock painting. I was going to use regular acrylic paints, but this may be easier for their hands. If you need to add a layer of a different color, like in your strawberry with the white dots on the red, how long did it take for the red to dry? This was so interesting ❤❤

Oh wow! I feel validated. I know everyone loves Posca but I personally find them bleeding a lot and destroying my paper. Could totally be user error but I think the sharpies might just solve all my problems.

I have the bullet nib ones and my biggest complaint is that I wish they were skinnier for tinier areas. Kind of glad I didn't get the brush tip ones if the paint isn't as pigmented. I also don't care for Posca pens that much. I'm not a huge fan of how matte the paint is, and on certain surfaces like resin, the black just looks more like a charcoal color, plus it can scrape off easily.

You didn’t discuss cost. Can the Sharpie marker be refilled? If not you’re throwing away a lot of plastic. They may still be worth it but that is a decision for each person to make.

Poscas cant be refilled either. Im not sure any paint marker brand has that as an ability

@@BunnyDoesArtThingsYes they can. Google it. They aren’t designed to, but they can easily be refilled. Posca Doesn’t sell any official refillable ink, but you can use any water-based paint and they work amazing. The brand Montana makes a good refillable Ink. And there are a lot of refillable paint markers on the market. It’s nice because it gives you the ability to use colors you may not be able to find elsewhere.

Sharpie is much more affordable! Especially when it comes to the brush version. I don't have any Posca brush markers at the moment, but they are between $6-10 individually or nearly $50 for a set of 10. Both types of Sharpie Creative Markers are around $20 for a pack of 12. I should have included that info in the video. However, this way the viewer can form an opinion before looking up the prices.

Pretty sure they have had em for a while. I know ive seen em sold individually for a few years in Michaels at my store. Looking it up theyve been out since 2006. Not very new

Those are the oil based that have been around for awhile. These new ones are water based acrylic.
