Thank you so much for these. I think this is still the best version of this story and it was lovely to be able to watch it again thanks to you.

No matter which version of this I watch, I always cry at the final scene.

I teach in school for boys. I have for years, and frankly I'd like to teach until I drop. I cry at the opening titles.

I'm all for protesting against war, but it is kind of a shame that they politicised this very apolitical 'course of life' story.
@dougimmel17 күн бұрын
Don't feel that it was politicized except that in the sense that everything is politics, and all politics are local. My father was a conscientious participant during World War II as he took horses to Poland with the merchant marine to fill their livestock needs at the close of the war. He was 17. I now go to give medical supplies and food in Ukraine. I hate war, especially the one going on in Ukraine. It tests my philosophy, to imagine that if I was in WWII, I might have been driven to kill Simply because of the sheer magnitude of the evil. It pains me greatly to see Nazis in America today, just as they were here in the 1930s. I felt like Mr. chips was simply telling a story through the eyes of an old school teacher as he perceived it, the war and the politics of the day as he saw it

Where can you get the full version?

Best I have been able to do is to find it in a series of six clips and you can post them all together.
