Quick question...I teach college students, we need students numbers as well as student names. What is the best way to set up my quiz questions? You mentioned that the first question you ask their names. In my case would you ask for their student number first and then ask for their names as the second question? Maybe it doesn't matter, but I'm trying to think ahead to the Excel sheet. It would help me with grading if I had their responses by their student numbers. If I just ask questions to get a "feel" for the group, I wouldn't need their numbers, right? I would want to be sure that each student only gets to respond to the questions once. Will the name field prevent students from answering more than once?

+Mary Kay Toumajian It wouldn't matter very much either way (asking first for their student number or for their name), because once you download the spreadsheet you could just sort the sort by student number, or by name, however you'd like to sort it. You're right that if you just want to poll the students or get a feel for the group you could just have it be anonymous. The name field won't prevent students from answering more than once though.

How do I correct short answers that have to be read? The video showed short answers and you added the correct response, but in this case, I have to read the answers for accuracy. YOur thoughts?

If I am using a FREE socrative and since I have only one room but I have 30 students per class with four sections, can I still use the room? They will not use it simultaneously.
