The Fat Controller (Sir Topham Hatt): Gordon the Number 4 Engine!
This is set after the scene where Marion dug up the treasure and dropped it on Thomas. Sir Topham Hatt was really red in the face at Gordon the next morning, yelling at him for getting Thomas sent away, making himself too strict to listen and punished him to work as the smelters until the evening for the night's express train. Sir Topham Hatt being strict can be a part of his human side.
Based on AaronCottrell97's Restoring Lost Honour which is his fanfiction of Sodor's Legend of the Lost Treasure.

Yeah but Thomas could've, or rather SHOULD'VE been the bigger engine. What doesn't help is how Thomas' reaction to the Fat Controller calling him out is basically "I missed the part where that's my problem.". I feel like even Classic Thomas would be like "Bro. Are you f..king serious?!". Like Thomas may be cheeky, but he's usually quick to man up when he gets called out for his cheeky behavior by the Fat Guy. Having Thomas react with "Not my fault", just felt extremely out of character for him. As for the dynamite aftermath, what should've happened is before Fatty McHatty can scream Thomas' full name, Ryan quickly steps in, tells him that Thomas saved everyone from an accident and explained what happened. However Thomas would try and take full blame, saying he forgot about the bad coal and failed to warn Ryan in time. However instead of verbally beating him, Fatty firmly but fairly acknowledges that Thomas was only trying to prevent a worse outcome. But despite not being scolded this time, Thomas still feels awful for all the confusion and delay he caused in an attempt to get back on the Fat Guys good side.

@@supermariof0521 Actually, I've a better idea: maybe Sir Topham Hatt, after he's done yelling at Thomas, gets back in his car, sighs, and looks back at his No.1 engine with a guilty look on his face, implying that despite being furious with Thomas, he DOES feel a little sorry for him deep down. And then he drives off.

DAWN was breaking over the island and Thomas was beaming over finally discovering the treasure with Marion and the diggers. Meanwhile, Gordon, Henry and Emily were at Knapford Station, and Gordon was waiting for Percy to bring him his coaches. He was still boasting about "silly little tank engines," much to Emily's chagrin; but soon, he would receive his own comeuppance. Percy arrived with the coaches, and just before Emily could start scolding her former enemy… "GORDON THE NUMBER 4 ENGINE!" Gordon knew that voice and began shaking with petrified fear. He had been found out by Sir Topham Hatt. Emily smirked with satisfaction and Percy scurried away as Sir Topham Hatt stormed onto the platform, red as James. "You despicable liar! Emily told me what truly happened here. I thought you would have learned to respect all of us equally after Thomas saved Emily all those years ago, but I was wrong! I am impossibly disgusted by you! How dare you get Thomas sent away for your actions!" he bellowed. Despite his fear, Gordon tried to talk his way out. "Sir, Thomas ruined the Express and…" "NOT ANOTHER WORD!" roared Sir Topham Hatt. "You, Gordon, have broken your word and made one of my engines suffer yet again, just like James did with Percy and the scrap monster! I will keep my word from when Emily was still suffering. For deceiving Thomas and me again, you will stay at the smelters', watching scrap being melted down until this evening for tonight's Express. Should you attempt to leave the smelters' before I come for you, I will lock you in the shed for the rest of the month! Am I understood?!" His voice seemed to shake the whole station. Gordon felt as though the water in his boiler had turned to ice. He barely whispered, "Yes, sir." Henry merely stood still and speechless. Then Sir Topham Hatt turned to Sodor's angel. "Emily, you'll have to take the Express today." "With pleasure, sir," said Emily. Now she could truly prove she was as good as Gordon. This time, she waited for the brake coach to be coupled on. The conductor's whistle blew and she huffed out of the station, chuckling at Gordon's defeat. "Henry, before you head up to the docks, get this abomination of the railway out of my sight!" Sir Topham Hatt grouched. "Yes sir," said Henry. He coupled up to Gordon with a stern bump, then roughly jerked out of the station. After Henry left Gordon at the smelters', he couldn't help but say to himself, "Galloping sausage," as he went to collect his train from the docks, leaving Gordon to shudder with horror at the showering sparks from the claw above him. On his way to the docks, Henry passed Emily. She had remembered this time to stop for water and the coaches were full with Bertie's passengers. Henry winked at her, making her smile. She had saved Thomas, and now she was pulling Gordon's Express… the right way. She had made good time thanks to her patience and was going smoothly and gently with her passengers. She had a wonderful time.

Listen, if i break a thousand dollar table that is my roomates because he called me dumb, that's on me not the roommate. Thomas overreacted and broke many expensive coaches AND he didn't alert ryan of the bad coal which caused sparks which lit potentially dangerous dynamite. If gordon did that to annie and clarabel because thomas called him a galloping sausage, you guys would be saying "Gordon should be scrapped!". Just because he is the main character does not mean he can do nothing wrong.

This is the best revenge for Gordon in my opinion. This should have definitely been in that movie. Firstly, what happened to Thomas and Gordon's alliance? Also, don't you guys think the crash with the Express Coaches should have been a little more violent, like with the light poles and signal gantry coming down, and other engines crashing?

Thinking about it now, it would've made sense since it would provide more of a reason for Sir Topham Hatt to be as angry at Thomas as he was. I think they should've animated a few of the express coaches crashing into the supports of one of the signal gantries, making it collapse and block all of the tracks, as well as James failing to stop in time with a goods/freight train, crashing into the fallen signal gantry and derailing (the crash would be a good excuse for him to complain about his ruined paintwork). The only downsides are that it would've cost more to animate, and it would possibly have made the movie receive a PG-13 rating.

I'm sorry but how is this Gordon's fault? Thomas started it, he called Gordon lazy first. All Gordon did was call him silly in response. The accident was 100% Thomas' fault - someone saying you are silly does not allow you to be reckless with a heavy load in a busy junction. Think of it this way. The whole "Tender engines don't shunt" crap was rectified years ago and Gordon had the nerve to bring it up again. And since When has it been Thomas's job to pilot coaches at Knapford? He has his own line to run himself. But I will agree with you, Thomas has been growing a big ego and it was on the forefront at the start of the movie.

This is kinda stupid. Gordon was only being impatient. This could've been a little peptalk where Gordon is told not to be so impatient next time. Thomas was trying to be a good guy the third time he got in trouble, but for this incident and the one where he falls down the cavern, it was entirely his fault. Things just got off to a bad start. It happens.

Dude if he actually said that tooham would just lock thomas in the shed because in his perspective he was shunting the dynamite towards ryan so now after all of the things he had done sir topham would lock him in the shed because now topham thinks hes a endangerment and heres this: dont even try defending thomas in this movie he was wrong, when he took on the bad coal he never warned ryan about the bad coal hopper causing sparks to come from his funnel also causing the sparks to ignite the dynamite ryan was pulling and gordon shouldnt be punished for "being a meanie" to thomas sll gordon did was just tell thomas to hurry up AND THOMAS DECIDED TO BE CHEEKY so it WASNT gordons fault
