I like that the diesel in the beginning is more honorable in a smug sort of way, respecting a steam engine's courage for trying to escape being scrapped.

So, an interesting fact about scrapping steam locomotives in the UK, scrapyards tended to keep them sitting intact. The thing with scrapyard operations is that dismantling a steam locomotive is a LOT of work, so they prioritized dismantling and cutting up rolling stock while keeping the steam locomotives intact. A lot of preserved steam locomotives in the UK were purchased from scrapyards. Unfortunately, in the US, scrapping operations weren't entirely operated in the most optimal way, because often times they were operating under contract. For example, when the New York Central retired their Hudsons, they specifically ordered that scrappers _not_ be allowed to sell the locomotives intact, and to prioritize their destruction. The CEO of the NYC at the time believed that any surviving steam locomotive would mar the line's reputation as a forward-thinking company. They even went out of their way to hunt down any locomotives that were on lease from the NYC to other lines. And after the merger with the Pennsylvania Railroad and New Haven Railroad to form the Penn Central, the same happened with many of the PRR's steam locomotives, including ALL of the T1s.

Oliver mentioned 7101 that hymlek diesel was Bare who was going to come onto sodor sometime in the future with another diesel who was bad temperd and nasty to all of the steam engines

I know before he came to Sodor Isabel was BR maroon but I'm just wondering why his autocoaches are still BR maroon on Sodor or was that a creative change on your part? :)

Wester, do you agree that escape was done better in the television series with Edward telling Douglas about saving Trevor from scrap and that giving Douglas more motivation to help Oliver?

The episode is wonderful, but I think your narration could use a lot of work. It just seems really monotonous, and, no offense intended, rather boring. If you sped up your voice, and even put a slight inflection between voices on characters, it'd be soo much better!

Not just that, but bear in mind that Thomas the tank Engine & Friends was very expensive to shoot, so the model crew cut corners at times. (In Series 1 and 2, the tar and milk wagons were one and the same, with a different paint scheme on each side). As Isabel didn't play a huge role in the books, it was inevitable that she would be the model that was discarded.
