In this video Mike talks about the differences in what officers and enlisted do in SOF units. If you are not sure if you want to be an officer or enlisted you need to watch this video.

Thanks for the video Mike! I heard you speak on a podcast (as you even touch on here) about some of the cool schools you’ve gone to over the years while in RRC - in particular tracking. I was curious how often do you apply any of those skills in your civilian life (I can’t even imagine remembering all that stuff). Also, maybe this is a dumb question but when a guy like yourself speaks on a podcast or event, how do you keep track of what missions you can and cannot speak on? Like are you made aware when something becomes declassified? Appreciate you sharing your story, take care!

Any experience you have had with Force recon, have you had any switch over to rrc and do they fit in well?. On a recon how do they differ when it comes to the recon mission?

Great video brother! This would be perfect for recruiters attempting to explain the difference between officers and enlisted. A good friend of mine has a son considering an SF career; I’ll forward this to him.

Hey Mike, Thank you for the video. Have you had much experience working with the Force Recon Marines? If so, could you include that information in one of your videos? Every time SOF unit members speak about Force Recon or MARSOC, they always have good things to say. Since Force Recon and RRC are both reconnaissance units, although on different levels, it makes sense that you guys would work together.

I’m a staff officer who is aspiring to join the Ranger Regiment. I do sometimes wish I went enlisted first to do the more high speed stuff, especially since I’m a POG who would never do much high speed stuff in the RR. And if I went enlisted first, I wouldn’t have to compete for O-5, as it is easy to make O-4 in my branch but not O-5.

Any advice for a new Ranger private? If you had to do it all over again, would you have taken a different route? What did you get out of your service and how did that shape you into the man you are today?
@RRCMikeEdwards17 күн бұрын
good question. I would not change anything that I did. The Regiment really sets guys up for success. I dont know why it is maybe how brutally we are treated for the first year or so. I believe my time there set me up with discipline and a work ethic that I would not have learned anywhere else. As a Ranger private I recommend being in the best shape possible and studying every military manual you can get your hands on, then always be ready to learn. That will set you up for success.

Awesome video. Maybe all those specialized schools should be part of the pipeline. I always had lots of respect for officers as most had Ranger tabs. They were squared away. My first squad leader back in 2004 was in the 75th but he ruined his back on a jump. He was the best teacher. Always with the ranger handbook. If he asked a question and you didn’t know. Hit the wood line. I was never in the 75th. But because of him I know the handbook and the Ranger Creed by memory.

I actually enjoyed this role breakdown cause folks dont understand that in the Special Operations teams, the Officer is the wife and the Team Sergeant(Green Berets)/Leading Petty Officer(SEAL teams) is the husband. I think the change is culture is important because less bureaucracy is needed and more hands-on precision is needed to execute and result in a no-fail mission. Is there any country in the world howver that has their Special Forces doctrine and team makeup upside-down and opposite of this structure?

Since you are entertaining questions I’d like to hear your opinion on something. There’s no doubt for those of us who follow Yah and are trying to keep his commandments are seeing a big evil movement in turning the deadly sins into virtues. With “pride” month around the corner I’d like to know your thoughts on pride. There seems to be paradoxical (big for a Marine😅) concept in pride like usestress and distress. The 1st example could be the pride of graduating a difficult military school overcoming challenges and gaining confidence and skills while on the other hand pride could prevent a man from asking for help when it’s needed leading his self destruction. Perhaps we need a different word for the first example?
@RRCMikeEdwardsАй бұрын
good question, I think there are different types of pride. I believe having pride in something you accomplish is not bad or sinful. For example when we complete something hard, or build something we are proud of there is nothing wrong with that. The pride that is sinful and will destroy your soul is the pride that keeps people stuck in the false religious system regardless of what scripture says I have talked to so many preachers about scripture and almost all of them are to prideful to admit they have been wrong or that they have been deceived by the religious establishment. This is definitely the pride spoken of in the bible and will keep people from seeing the truth as well as keep them from being obedient to the word. This is also common among the older generation because they have been indoctrinated even longer. This pride allows people to be content with lawlessness a not want to come to the light.
