When we talk about holidays, we also talk about what we will cook, and cozonac is always on our list. In this episode, we made a soft and fluffy cozonac, just as it should be. A quick recipe for a fluffy cozonac that you wouldn't expect. And to top it off, we used only one egg for the entire cozonac. Yes, you heard it right, a super delicious cozonac with just one egg.
On top of that, we reduced the preparation time, cooking time, and we even break the myth of cozonac without kneading.
The traditional cozonac recipe is an understatement because we worked on it and perfected it until it became: the best fluffy cozonac, the best cozonac with walnuts, the best cozonac with Turkish delight, and that's not all! It's sprinkled with jokes from one end to the other.
Below, I'll leave you the list of ingredients to marvel at how many you need.
Ingredients for Fluffy Cozonac with Walnuts and Cocoa:
For the cozonac starter:
- 50g of flour;
- 200ml of water;
Mix them over low heat until it becomes a "glue", the starter.
The cozonac dough with Turkish delight:
- 650g of wheat flour for cozonac;
- 1 egg;
- 200ml of milk;
- 50g of butter;
- 150g of sugar;
- 50g of powdered milk;
- 12g of dry yeast or 75g of fresh yeast;
- 12g of salt;
- 1 egg white for sealing the cozonacs;
- 1 egg yolk with a little milk for brushing the cozonacs;
The cozonac filling with walnuts and Turkish delight:
- 500g of Turkish delight cut into small cubes;
- 400g of ground walnuts;
- 250g of hot milk;
- 100-150g of raisins;
- 50g of cocoa;
Optional but sometimes necessary :), rum essence, grated lemon and orange zest, rose water.
