Winds Of Fjords was a tracker module song made by minomus (half of Soft Knees) back in 2001. A decade later it got added to Roblox and gained some popularity among players creating their own games.
In 2022 we made remaster of the original, only mixing was carefully polished and mastering applied. The song itself was intact. After this J-Bug, a KZfaqr from South Korea asked for a customized edit for an animation. Lead synth got changed to electric guitar, low quality tracker samples to modern VST instruments and style more towards cinematic epicness. As people seem to like edits and remixes of Winds of Fjords, we thought it would be nice to release the song also on its own.

this song is the perfect blend between pacing, EDM, synthwave, and metal and i fucking adore it dont burn yourselves up, however keep at it! i'm excited for whats to come in the future!

Soft Knees, thank you for this. This is genuinely amazing. I loved the original and this is great, as well! It always makes me reminisce the old times when I was just an innocent kid playing ROBLOX over 13 years ago. Truly remarkable work.

Hello Soft Knees, I have a question. In the late 90s Purple Motion made a song called Starshine. He uses a sample in his song that was also used in your song, wind of fjords. Did you get the sample from him or did he get the sample from you?

In tracker music scene it was very common to borrow samples from other modules as long as the source was credited in the internal comment sections. Modules are kind of "open source music files", you could open songs made by others and see how they were done and copy samples. I enjoyed manu songs by Purple Motion and took the sample from his module. He was active a few years earlier than me

1e is outrageous? Music is copyrighted so that musicians could earn and on the other hand, preventing others to blatantly steal and sell music they have not done themselves. Pretty obvious, huh?

@@meoqtx for personal use it is sold for 1e on our Bandcamp. For single Roblox game licensing cost is 40e and there have been several developers who have purchased it and it is very reasonable price for game music licensing. If you can point me to documents you mentioned, I would be very interested in seeing those. I have nothing to do with removing the song from Roblox, as far as I know they did remove all unlicensed music because of copyright laws. Tbh, the problem is people who think like you, that everything others have made should be free to use by anyone. If you were an artist and made a song, graphics, or whatever, would you be happy if a billion dollars company used your material without contract?
