@@cabalpaxiarch7239 I meant that old Barbie movies are coming back with a lot of popularity right now. As for newer Barbie movies, I only feel like I can recommend Starlight Adventure. I haven’t seen many new ones.

When I was a kid, I'd find my hairbrush before going to bed and look at the sky while making my wish, hoping that it'll become the magic paintbrush that'll take me to the place I want to be. Constant as the Stars Above feels so hopeful. I miss my pure innocent and sweet thinking.

I'm so sad right now. Crying silently in my room. And whenever I'm in this state, I always listen to Barbie songs (in piano) and cry harder. It encourages me to just let all the feelings out and be calm after. I just wanna go back to the time when I was a child. 💔 No broken family, no huge problems, no deep-rooted pain.

I have strong memories from Constant as the Stars Above. My mother used to always sing this to us as a lullaby since she loved it. She doesn't sing to us anymore but I still remember those days...

u wanna know why they're underrated? bcs it's "girls movies", and therefore they're associated with bimbo girl-stereotypes. Barbie is for many an icon for "bimbos", "stupid blonde" and "whores". This is DESPITE her kindness, cleverness and braveness that is obvious to anyone who watched the movies. Simply bcs she's a feminine girl, who isn't ashamed of her femininity, she is proud of it, wearing glittery pink shoes and pink lipstick, and therefore she ("she" referring to Barbie as the character) has to take this shit. For me, she isn't an icon for a bimbo or a slut, she is an icon for a strong woman and a hero

@@herman5302 Could not have said this any better. Barbie is an icon for many of us in her movies because of her kindness and her willingness to help others in their time of need. She is always brave in her adventures and uses her femininity and the fact that she is underestimated to her advantage (e.g. in magic of pegasus where she literally uses her hair ribbon to save herself from death). She is beautiful physically yes, but it is her beautiful spirit that makes her an amazing woman for us all. Also women who have blonde hair, take care of themselves or appear feminine are often undermined for these things but Barbie NEVER let that stop her. Barbie is the reason I've grown out of a pink-hating child to a woman who always wears sparkly pink nail polish and has barbie stickers on her laptop haha. She gave me the confidence to do these things and not feel undermined by others for it. We can all learn something from barbie no matter who we are.

This takes me back to my childhood when my older sister still alive. We watched every barbie movie, and our younger sister was born obsessed with mermaidia and fairtopia. Just something about hearing this music again makes me feel like a kid again and nothing bad ever happened yet. Like theres still a future ahead of us just waiting to be lived.

This is beautiful. Let's all thank Arnie Roth for providing us some masterpieces in those old Barbie movies. Princess and the Pauper hits different. The vocal lines are actually quite difficult, to sustain a concentrated sound while keeping the text clear. It's a lovely challenge and earworm. 💯

i always find it fascinating how nostalgia can give people such unique insights and interpretations of the simplest pieces of media. in a more critical lens, all of the barbie movies were probably just a way for mattel to sell some extra DVDs and toys, but people still took that and made something beautiful with it

At times like this, I wish I had friends to listen to this music with them in the quiet of my room. I always denied that I liked Barbie, because "I'm not like other girls", but deep down I always wanted friends to hang out with, without being seen as an object. Barbie is what made my whole childhood enjoyable , & I'm not from a really wealthy family at all. So thinking back, it's amazing how much joy & energy the movies would transmit to my little self although lots around me was low states. I wish something had the same affect on me now as an adult.

I suffer from anxiety and other anxiety disorders and I getsick easily (like vomiting). So on the subway to college I put on this melody nonstop and it calms down so quickly. Im thankful from the bottom of my heart.

I'm a younger brother to two sisters and we all grew up watching the old Barbie movies. I still have 4 of them on VHS tapes that I watch every so often because of how much I love them

I cried at the dancing princesses. It came out when I was in ballet classes, or around the same time. I’ve always wanted to be a ballerina but never could because of finances. I’m now a new mom going through post partum depression and this playlist helped,. Thank you.

Life really hit hard once the first song started to play. I remember having bad days and I'd watch this with my sister. Loved how being a princess made me feel and I think that's why I'm an INFP. Not that anyone will care about this comment 😅

I love all of your compositions in this playlist, but my favorites were "Constant as the Stars", "If You Love Me for Me", and "Right Here in My Arms". I cried listening to those -- they were so beautiful! You've got a sub from me just for those three pieces alone!

so nostalgic, bring back so many memories from childhood , I remember that I collected all the movies and watched them with my bestie , we learned all the songs and we would sing along, back then we were just little girls with a dream to be like the barbie princess.

As silly as it might sound to some people, these songs are and will always be one of the best things from my childhood. Constant as the Stars Above is one of the first songs I remember ever singing, there is actually an old voice recording (thanks dad) where I sing it terribly off key but straight from my little 5-year old heart 😂 I loved the storyline of Rapunzel and it always made me cry (in secret, had to act tough) when she was reunited with her father in the movie. That and Princess and the Pauper - especially Erika's character - were probably one of the biggest reasons why I grew to love singing and music in general. These movies have given me so so SO much and I will cherish these memories forever. ☺️ Thank you for these beautiful piano versions, they help me to calm down when I'm feeling anxious!
