★ INGREDIENTS AND RECIPE:
Orange 1
Eggs 3
Sugar 3/4 cup (150g)
Sunflower oil 1/2 cup (100g)
Milk 1/4 cup (60g)
Salt 1 pinch
Vanilla essence 1 teaspoon
Baking powder 1 sachet
Cake flour 2 cups (250g)
Icing sugar to taste
Recipe:
Wash the orange very well, wipe it, grate the peel, and keep it aside. Pay attention to grate just the orange part, because the white one is bitter. Cut the orange in half, squeeze it, and obtain the juice. Pour the eggs and sugar into a bowl and whisk with a hand mixer until the mixture is light and fluffy. Add the sunflower oil, milk, orange juice and zest, a pinch of salt, and a teaspoon of vanilla essence. Whisk to mix all the ingredients. Now add the baking powder and the flour a little at a time, keeping mixing with the whisks. Grease and flour the cake mold and pour in the mixture. Preheat the oven to 356°F/180°C. When it is hot, bake the cake for 30 minutes, then cover it with aluminum foil and continue baking for another 10 minutes. Before taking it out of the oven, check the cooking with a toothpick (cooking time may vary depending on the type of oven). Let the cake cool down, then dust it with powdered sugar to taste.
