Soft starter is a scr based starting device which is used to start motor with reduced starting current. the induction motor draws high current during starting. The soft starter intially throws low voltage to the motor, then gradually increases it to full voltage. So the starting current also gradually increases, instead of intial peak.

Are the firing of the SCR synchronous cross all phases, or each is fired at N% for each phase ?

SCR connection only made in two phases out of three.. I think u missed that topic... Mentioned in soft starter manual sir...

Sir how to gradually increase the firing angle from zero to max(180 degree).. Because it is completely opposite to three phase ac voltage control where the firing angle set for each SCRs are remains unchanged until the last operation!
