Then for those in middle school, obviously it's not appropriate to give a full sex education course but they should be introduced to important ideas about bodily autonomy, people needing consent to touch them, etc. unfortunately any age and any situation (even a doctor or teacher) might be the moment a child needs some skills to understand how to respond to abuse. So true. I know you meant well, however, I would like to say that they were not "adult situations", but rather evil situations, with evil people, who had power over her and abused it and her in horrible ways.

Early introduction of sexuality and sexual situations is called covert child sexual abuse. It happens ALL the time and is horrifyingly being championed all across the US and most of the western world under the guise of "trans kids." A 4 or 6 or 8 year old doesn't even understand the concept, yet it is being forced on them and they are openly exposed to adult sexuality and sexual situations, without their consent. I'm not political and that's not where I'm coming from at all on this, but it is the same thing, being normalized and made acceptable. These children are going to grow up and realize that they have been the victims of sexual abuse and they are going to have to deal with that, except by that tike, this will viewed as acceptable childhood experiences and the help they need won't be there. It will be like child sexual abuse was treated in the 50s or 60s, as a family issue and not something for health services to deal with. All that advocating and fighting and struggling, and it was all for nothing. I hope that stories like hers and mine and others will open people's eyes to the reality that stealing children's innocence comes in many forms, but leaves the same trail of devastated children.

This is so heartbreaking. Sending you lots of hugs. I grew up in an abusive and chaotic home. Both parents were abusive. Left home at 14 years old and never looked back. Mother hated my independence and at a young age i knew i can take care of myself no matter what.

“I’m sorry” is a trauma response. I feel your pain Victoria. Hold, love and take care of that child within. You are the true definition of a survivor. ❤

@Islanboy lol I can’t believe your corny ass making excuses for the mom, based off your statement you’re basically saying if this woman continues the cycle it’s totally fine smh you’re acting like someone who’s been through something traumatic doesn’t realize that it hurt them so it’s okay if they do it to someone else, it’s men like you that keep these cycles going. Her mom was dead wrong and thank God this Angel exists and she is able to show that what happens to you doesn’t define you and you don’t have to continue the cycle

@Islanboy her mother is to blame, her mother could’ve gone through it too but it does not mean it’s okay to let her child get sexually abused. All the adults are to blame, no matter what they went through.

@Islanboy this survivor has not done the same with her children so yes her mother is a million% to blame.

I know a mother who was abused b her father and decades later sent her daughter to the same man to be abused as well. I think it's denial to make mom feel better. By mom sending the daughter it makes mom feel like "nothing happened to me so nothing will happen my daughter."
