Miranda was abandoned by her father and raped twice as a tottler. She then grew up being “parentathised” by her own mother. Having to fill out medical form and college paperwork for her own mother as early as age 9? I would like to know what was wrong with the mother? Sounds like some serious neglect was going on here. I bet the mother was a meth addict or junkie also. This poor girl had her childhood stolen from her. She says in the interview that she has depression and anxiety for no reason. Well, she has a bunch of reasons!

Hey. Soft White Underbelly. I'm Richard from Ghana, West Africa. I've been a fan of your channel for years. Not only did you inspire me to start a non-profit in Ghana, you also inspired me to make videos with Africans that address unspoken issues in Africa like you do. In a nation where marginalised persons and issues are antagonised and ignored, it's truly inspiring to me and the VOIICE Community to do what you do. Thank you!

This is crushing. She’s so broken, and her body language speaks volumes on how defeated she feels. She’s been through far too much at only 20. She has the sweetest soul, and you can tell she’s holding onto a tiny glimmer of hope. I hope she finds another way. She has so much potential, and is so aware and intelligent. Honestly so heartbreaking. I wish I could give her a hug.

@ronaldleskojr5579 I see it as you do and ppl hate us for this honest assessment. The children in our family had mega love and great opportunity. They are of a different generation and for them to have a bad day....is destructive. I don't understand the mentality. You get up....go to work...stay in the game...and chances are things will get better. They are not built to last. So much repeated trauma for those of us that choose a better path. My husband and I chose to eventually sever ties because we were being drug through the consequences of their REPEATED bad choices. We visit the cemetery now....knowing we couldn't save her. Would we choose to estrange ourselves...knowing the outcome...if we had it to do all over again? Yes. Yes we would.

@Otto Fetting I’ll say this. 9/10 when you try to pour into addicts you’re pouring into a bottomless pit. But there’s always the slim chance that you’re the person who has the potential to show them “the light”. It’s COMPLETELY up to them (or maybe even “luck”) whether or not they decide to walk into the “light”. But there are ways to offer this at no expense to self (unless you’re not (securely) in a “great space” yourself.

You have a choice in the end you or the drugs... Today I own a house, have my third child my oldest 2 are adults in college and divorsed because she wanted that D*ck... I own my own company, own Harleys... So to tell me addicts are basically worthless you dont know that...

Miranda, you were helping your mom with her college work when you were 9. It is NOT too late for you. You're still so much younger than you realize. You've kicked the drugs before, and you can do it again. I know the grief of your loss is unimaginable. But you're so much stronger and smarter and better than you believe you are. Almost a million people on KZfaq believe you can do it.

I’ve seen a lot of Mark’s videos. For whatever reason, Miranda touched me in a way I can’t describe. I see a very intelligent, well-spoken, and strong but broken girl who is missing love and family. It pains me to think she feels trapped at 20 years old when she has her whole life ahead of her if just one good person sees her and recognizes what most of us did. She doesn’t think she’s worthy of another way of life or to be loved but she is and I desperately want and hope she finds it.

ive been binging these videos for a few days now since ive discovered the channel, and i cant help but feel even more saddened by the fact that the people interviewed wont always be able to see all of the love and support and understanding for them that they have brought out in people in the comment section. Im not implying that would be a saving grace, but miranda especially struck a chord in me and i just hope she can see that the whole world isnt against her despite the tragedies shes endured her entire life.

It broke my heart when she recounted the memory of her mom taking her window shopping. It goes to show that all children need is love and those bonding moments with their parents. Even though they didn’t have money to spend, it was still a good day she had with her mom that she will always remember. So sad 💔

Right? Window shopping is what this poor girl has to fall back on. Kids need love and quality time. Man This girl breaks my heart. I can't imagine being as young as this girl is and being completely alone
@privatename3621
@privatename3621 2 жыл бұрын
The part that broke my heart was when she was telling her first 'puppy' love: "You remember that green pillow"? I don't know why, but that got me misty eyed, knowing that she was referring back to a simpler and more innocent time in her life when different choices could have meant a completely different life outcome for her. My heart breaks for this lady. If I was a billionaire, I think I would use all of my money trying to really help each of these people get clean and get their lives together. I know it's mostly a dream, especially when you hear so many of them keep talking about how many times they got clean, but then some little thing triggered them and they went right back too it. Once the body has been exposed to these harder drugs (and alcohol and nicotine), it seems like it always has that desire and always feels that pull. So that any difficult life situation that comes up essentially becomes their next "excuse" to go back to that lifestyle. Next to plagues and wars, drugs are the worst things ever to befall humanity. Even with all the warnings and information about the dangers, people still choose to begin taking drugs. Even if you don't come from a broken family or an abusive or neglected childhood, peer pressure can also get young people started on the downward spiral. It may start innocently by smoking weed, then taking a hit of psychedelics during a techno concert, then on and one until each hit gets stepped up more and more, like riding more and more thrilling roller coasters. Until one day they meet someone how is looking for another lifelong income stream, and coaxes them into taking a hit of heroine, crack, fentanyl, or similar, and that's the beginning of the end. Sorry to ramble. I just really feel for these people. And we should all thank Mark for being someone who will listen and document their stories. Which for many, will probably be their only lasting legacy.

When a family friend SA you are 4 your parents were not taking care of you. Where were the rest of the family, why didn't they intervene, her grandparents included? She was thrown to the wolves and had to learn how to survive. Why must a 6 year old help her mom take her medicine? @@skelliex2572 - I’ll be honest with you it’s not easy but if you really want it and are ready to put the work in you can do it. I had gotten sober many, many times and always relapsed but the last time I just knew I couldn’t live that life anymore. It had taken too much from me and I was just sick and tired of being sick and tired. I had overdosed so many times at that point I knew one of these times I wasn’t going saved with Narcan. I walked into the methadone clinic, did my intake and I stayed on it for about 3 years while I got a job and worked my ass off to save up to get my own place, get a car, was able to buy things like clothes and go out to eat, things I hadn’t done in years because all my money went to drugs. I did counseling and therapy to work on my mental health which was monumental in my recovery. Figuring out why I even started using, dealing with my trauma and other mental health issues and learning what my triggers were and building healthy coping skills was imperative to being successful in recovery. You have to put in the work. Once I felt like I was ready I started tapering my dose super slowly, 2mg a week then even slower to 1mg every week then as I got really low I did 1mg every other week until I got to the lowest they could give me which was 1 mg. I was hoping the withdrawal wouldn’t be that bad but it still was. I couldn’t sleep, I could barely eat, I was so restless, I had chills, etc. The worst of was the first week and it did lessen but it still lasted a few months. Took me a long time to be able to sleep completely through the night. A lot of emotional ups and downs as well, really feeling emotions was so new to me as they had been dulled by drugs for so long. I did smoke weed to help with sleeping and other withdrawal symptoms but if I did it all again I would absolutely get some comfort meds to help with the symptoms. So in the end it was the hardest thing I have ever done but it was so, so worth it, I have so much to live for now when I for so long I had nothing. I hope you get get sober, being only a year in will make it so much easier for you, don’t waste 15 years like I did. I’ll never get those years back and I missed out on so much of my life, I try not to have regrets but that’s something I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to forgive myself for and be at peace with. Good luck and stay safe

I really, really, from the bottom of my heart, hope she's getting better. I hope she gets to be a fantastic mum to beautiful children, have a safe home, and just the GOOD life such an amazing young woman deserves!

its like, can we crowd fund a farm?? have dispersed housing for small teams of these kids, teams that form over 6 qualifying workshops/meetings on the street, where 3-4 of these girls meet and join up and motivate each other and hold each other accountable and 1/2 mile away there's 4-5 of guys who teamed up in a similar way. rehab/therapy yes, but MOSTLY just to have ONE chance to be in a peaceful spot and learn some real, good, simple, life stuff no doubt, it would be a massive challenge straight rehab seems pointless for her, wilderness challenge, pretentious. she doesn't have much to look back on or go back to. she needs to find a base for slowly

She reminds me of my Soldier’s after we returned from combat. I looked at them afterwards and they were still so young but their soul’s had traveled to hell and back. That in turn gave them an essence of having aged internally and hardened in character but not by choice, but by the horrific circumstances we suffered through. I pray she gets some Mental Health help and that she finds a way out. God bless her.

I have two very small boys, and I intend to show them this video one day. I want them to have perspective and understanding of how difficult life can be. When you make the wrong choices, they can destroy your life. I learned from experience, and I don't want them to have to live through many of the things I did, or she did. This video is a really good example for them. I appreciate the interview, and her open honesty. It will help some kids, I'm sure of it.

As a mother, I feel for this young woman. She was born and raised in an environment that she stood little chance of thriving and succeeding in, a victim of circumstance. She is without a doubt, the oldest and most weary 20 year old I've ever seen. Her eyes are lifeless. I hope and pray she can break free of the demons that have hold of her. She deserves a chance at a good life! 😥

This girl telling her story takes real courage .... so many people hide every traumatic thing they’ve experienced from the world ... think about the people you know .... it’s very rare that any of them tell any type of traumatic stories that might make them look bad I’m sure..... there’s something so cool to me about people who are willing to be vulnerable. They are smart enough to own their truth ... I hope this girl can find recovery and live a happy life! 🧡

There are also a lot of abusive idiots out there that like to throw your past up in your face. I have to be able to trust someone to a certain extent before I let it all hang out. Don't set yourself up for abuse to just anyone. Besides.. Jesus only needs to know my past. No one else. I'm no sympathy seeker and judgemental people can kiss my grits. 😊
@Daniellex1818

@@MelMel-hu2ui understandable ... everyone deals with trauma differently. I personally have found that if I lay all my biggest traumas or insecurities out to others ... then I feel they can’t use them against me because I was the one to present them. For me personally ... it’s freeing ... because if I lay it all out... the good the bad the ugly .... then I don’t ever have to live in fear and wonder or worry when someone might hear something negative about me and try to use it against me. Honesty is soooooooo freeing! F*** what anyone else thinks. Our traumas do not define us .... it’s how we choose to deal with them that does.

@@Daniellex1818 That's great, but I choose not to. I talk to the Lord and He's the one that sets me free. I'm just surrounded by insecure people that feel if they cut me down it makes them feel better than me. I got no time for that nonsense, so I just keep things to myself aside From talking to Jesus. Their opinions don't really matter to me anyway. They're just looking for anything to throw up in my face. If I don't talk about it, then they have no weapon against me. I am glad that it works for you tho. I've one friend that I will talk to about everything tho. It is kind of freeing, but we all have things we want to forget about. I don't like to be judged by people. They have no right to judge so they don't need to be up in my business.

This is how Skid Row is. You don't really own anything but your story. I grew up in foster care in the 90's in LA. I spent a lot of my childhood on Skid Row, behind the Pomona bus station, San Pedro, and the camps in the canyon bc the group homes they put us in were worse than the streets. (Mac was so bad the ACLU stepped in; beatings, drugging us stupid and Epstien type operations) Plus a lot of drugs make you talkative as hell, and what else are they gonna talk about? I mean, it's the closet thing to therapy many people can get. Crazy considering I just read a paper on pubmed about using MDMA during therapy for complex PTSD getting a 90% reduction of symptoms compared to 60% with the placebo.

While I was sad for a stupid guy not replying to me at 19 she was fighting for Life from addiction, with kids, being an orphan, without any shelter or food. This is an eye opener to me. So proud of you Miranda. For everything you are, for everything you have been been regardless of the choices you made. You'll get through this, the way you already have. Prayers.
