I work in treatment in Orange County, CA. Yes body brokering is a HUGE problem. This practice makes it almost impossible for legit treatment centers to stay open. These pos' will admit themselves into a place under the disguise of wanting help and before you know it they have corrupted the other patients to leave treatment with the promise of free drugs and money. No one needs "help" getting into treatment. Google is a great resource or calling the members service number on the back of your insurance card. Btw everyone knows exactly who he is talking about here in Orange County, why the feds haven't shut that guy down or raided his places is beyond me. This has been going on for a few years now. I first met Abraham in late 2020. I am scared for him. He is a shell of his former self 🥺 Abraham you are in my prayers 🙏

I fear we are all done for and it’s simply a matter of time before the corporation will kill you with the poison of their (and your) choice under the guise of a solution to your problem. End stage capitalism is the exact same as end-stage-any-disease. It’s the end and then you die. At least drug dealers are up front about the fate that awaits. Sending all the healing thoughts your way, Abraham. 🙏

It may be that way in CA but it's certainly not in TX. Employers aren't required to provide health insurance in a lot of cases, tons of loopholes and ways around it. There's little to no chance chance of an working age adult getting on Medicare or Medicaid or any kind of government assisted health care. There are indigent care programs and free clinics if you're sick, but those are usually county programs and those clinics are packed. Depending on where you're at in the state, the rehab facilities that accept patients through those programs are usually full, with weeks or months long waiting lists. And they're not very nice facilities, unkempt and not very clean. Old houses slightly retrofitted, short staffed because the people working there aren't paid much at all. Not very secure. And they're typically filled with patients who are ordered by the courts to complete a rehab program instead of going to jail. Not many people simply looking to get clean voluntarily in there. It's even worse if you're trying to find a bed for someone needing mental health treatment. They're pretty much nonexistent in Texas. If you've got mental health issues, you just go to jail and get put in solitary in a "turtle suit". I haven't personally dealt with that but I know several friends and family who have and are.

@@sooverit5676 I foubt local authorities would do anything. Not really their wheelhouse, their jails and courts are over packed. If it's not a violent crime in LA or SoCal, they look the other way or just let it slide more often than not. And I'm not sure there are laws on the books that makes this practice entirely illegal. Or if there is legislation, it may not be written in a way that makes it easier to prove.

This video gave me chills . I met Abraham in 2020 , he looked nothing like this . Abe was my roomate at a treatment center in Beverly Hills . He put me on to what he was doing and being an addict in active addiction , i wanted in . On my 28th day out of 30 days , Abe snuck in fentanyl and was over dosing , being his roomate i called in the tech on duty that night and he was narcanned and saved but the tech went home that night and used the fentanyl and died . In the morning the staff was very upset and accusing us of the techs death . Abe and i left out of spite and got a hotel room near skid row in LA where i tried meth for the first time and i ended up in a psychosis and going to jail . I don’t like to talk about this traumatic experience often because it was a tough time in my life , but today i am 18 months clean, working at a legit treatment center in New Jersey , and prospering and loving my life . What’s crazy to me is while at work during the over night shift I’m staying awake by watching this channel and I see Abraham on here . A shell of his former self . Go home Abe , I’m back in New Jersey after surviving the horrors of Californias treatment scandal and i am back with my family and recovering from this disease of addiction and the lifestyle .

I feel conflicted because I think … is it better in some way as a step in a healthier direction??? If you discover you are in a “bad” facility… what do you do? I do see how that would hinder recovery and also at least you have made some progress. My son is in active addiction for almost all of the last 13 yrs. He’s 27 like this young man. He made complaints before about a place he was in and I thought it was just the addiction talking… not the real him.

2 yrs sober here. Something that stood out to me about this interview is that Abraham is addicted to the chaos. He gets bored and sabotages his sobriety. Abraham, life is not meant to be all about fun, excitement, thrill. Life will be boring. But there’s something so beautiful in that peace, in that quiet. You’re scared of it and it feels weird in the beginning but once you allow yourself the peace all humans need and deserve, you won’t ever want to go back. These feelings im describing wont come in 90 days. I still feel my mind shift daily at 2 yrs sober, constantly building myself and my life up again but its really rewarding. The tasks of getting ur life together are daunting but once you figure out a plan, small goals, you can do it. Don’t put so much pressure on yourself. You have a spark and a big heart within you, i can understand why your parents haven’t left u behind, love yourself Abe!! ❤️🖤

Addiction is very complicated, and I think you can believe you’re addicted to all the things that are associated with the addiction too; the danger, ups and downs, the little thrills of life outside the normal world. But it’s still actually the drug addiction that’s driving everything, and those associations are incidental, and really only something you like because it’s attached to drug use, and your mind connects the two, like how a when a dog hears it’s bowl gets excited, because it knows that there’s gonna be food, not because the sound of the bowl is so great.

Tbh what you just said is one of the reasons I chose not to have children.. obviously there's more to it but I learned when I was young, it doesn't matter how much you love your children they will make the choice to do what they want. My brother became addicted to crack at 15, I was 7.. as I got older I saw just how much damage and hurt he caused my mom. Why did he choose this path? My mom wasn't the best but she didn't "raise" us to be drug addicts, ya know.. and yes I eventually became addicted to drugs out of curiosity and friends/availability.. it started with coke and ended with a long term battle with opiates (I'm clean 2 yrs rn) BUT I would NEVER go near crack. I was better then that. So stupid. I'm so sorry you have to worry about this😔 I hope you all have a long beautiful life together ❤️ Sending much love

You are right to worry. Education, education, education. educate them on the dangers of drug and alcohol use and where it leads. The first mistake you can make is thinking you are different and that you could never end up this way. And kids are naive enough to believe they are different, but addiction can happen to ANYONE who just makes one wrong choice. Educate In detail. And if they take the wrong path, it’s not your fault. Lots of kids grow up in loving homes and still end up on a crappy path, but usually have a better chance at getting their life back if they had a good childhood. Ultimately their decisions are up to them and all you can do is guide them..

The courts are involved the state is involved and now there are countless rehabs that you can’t even go to. They’re scary. You have a better chance helping yourself by getting away from everyone than you do going to rehab these days. I was court ordered rehab. The state paid the rehab 3k for me… their check clears at the 15 day point of a 30 day rehab…. Guess which day you get kicked out of rehab for some made up BS? Day 16… when their check for you has cleared. Rinse repeat…. It’s such a set up and scam… on the most vulnerable people in society.

Exactly, I’m not cool with this dude who is clearly in a very vulnerable situation, being interviewed for a good story, and possibly ending up dead. This guy witnessed a murder and now someone wants to retaliate against him. Abraham, may an army of angels surround you on your journey every day of your life. It’s very telling of you as a person that you chose not to kill. When confronted with that situation.

Believing I had a drinking problem many years ago, I put myself in a 6 week rehab facility in a residential "treatment center"at the age of 54. Everyone else in the place was much younger. I quickly discovered that I did Not have a drinking problem...and spent 6 weeks watching these "kids" who did NOT want to be there but had been forced into it. It was a horrible eye-opener. They were drinking mouthwash...sneaking pills in, and found every loophole because addicts are sneaky and smart. There were 2 deaths while I was there, both on the day after a "resident" left...because when they went home, they immediately went to their "drug of choice" taking a dose they could have handled before rehab but was an overdose after 6 weeks clean. I watched at least 4 kids return to the facility after being discharged because it was the closest thing to home they had (their friends were still there) so they "lapsed" to get back in. The so-called treatment was a joke. The staff were not professionally trained, there was no one with any medical background and the "kids" treated it as a joke. I believe that rehab should be a life-line to an addict. But there are unscrupulous places out there calling themselves rehabs that should be investigated at the very least. Choose wisely and carefully.

Hey everybody. He’s talking about somebody by the name of Nathan Young, AKA Pablo these days. He’s the owner of an LLC called 55Silver. They focus on acquisition of treatment centers nowadays, because the ones he started (helping hands, get real, healing path, rodeo recovery, etc) all got flagged and audited by every insurance company for targeting specific policies that pay more, and putting people in slums when their health insurance policies aren’t good. He’s actually Jewish, and he owns a hotel that’s in either Venice or Santa Monica, I can’t quite recall.

Mark, thank you for doing what you do. Abraham, you have a beautiful soul and a brilliant mind. You are also incredibly brave for telling us this story. You also have parents who love you-I hope you find your way back to them. You are still young-the odds of staying clean once and for all, are in your favor. But changing your environment is critical. And not just changing cities, but distancing yourself from rehabs (even non-corrupt ones) is important. It will take time, maybe a whole lifetime, to redefine your life outside of addiction, but it is possible. You’ve already started…you’ve made a change by speaking up about an industry that most people have no idea about, myself included-even as a community/correctional psychiatrist, I had no idea that this body brokering took place. I see patients every day who relapse not long after leaving rehab, or they seem to cycle through rehab to rehab + it doesn’t make any sense to me-like what’s the plan after discharge? and nobody from these facilities contacts me to set up discharge plans/continuity of care). I now understand a great deal more + hope I can help protect some of my patients from falling prey. I learned something tremendously important from your story, thank you for that. I think you have a lot more to give the world. I’m rooting for you. (And thank you Mark for doing what you do).

Hi Abraham. Thank you for sharing your story. I am a recovering alcoholic. Been abusing for over 12 years. Iv been sober 11 months. I started the journey 2019 and relapsed many times because my body would go into these seizures and massive headaches. But I was determined and very self aware just like you. I cried every single night to God for him to give me strength. I have autism. And the world is so hard for me and alcohol helped me survive. I am so happy to hear you have such supporting parents. You have it in you man. You need to just shut the world off. If you dont want to worry about islnsurance and this and that when you're sober then I suggest you go hermit. I locked myself in the house. I started a green house so I had something to do everyday and the plants life depend on me. My cat also. I have no choice but to focus on keeping my cat and plants alive. I turned my bedroom into my sanctuary so u am surrounded by positive visual stimulation. Music, lights, books, calming aroma, white noise. You have to trick your own brain and it works! It's safe to say everyone watching sees you are trying. Please don't give up. You are only 27. Abraham, if you read this, thank you for your honesty and trying to hold on to your ethics and integrity even in the circumstances you are in now. Life is not black and white, but in my opinion there are things you can come back from in any given lifetime and things you cannot; and intention does count. There is so much goodness in you. It is so hard to hold on to that for yourself in the midst of substance abuse. You are clearly so smart, well spoken and from the story you just told, it sounds like you demonstrated courage in a very scary situation. One that still haunts you to this day. I really hope you decide to get sober, I think you have so much hope and potential and happiness ahead of you. Life can be so different. It will take more than a few months, but you can have everything you want if you make the choice and stick by it, even in moments of weakness. You will not be in a position to become a better person by surrounding yourself with people that prey on others. You know how to get sober. Now make it through the boredom. It gets better. It will not be easy but it will be worth it.

@@katiehealybarcelon9070 Katie, unfortunately, there are millions who feel the way you do. That attitude is half of the problem. Fortunately, I am not one of them. Mine drug of choice, as they say, was prescription pain medication, which I took for years for a real issue. II am not now & haven't been for 15 years, it's always a struggle. Please don't ever judge someone unless you have been in their shoes yourself. Addictions are not by choice, it's called MENTAL ILLNESS. @@MrJames-tw3so 👍🏽 the rehab system over here (uk) isn’t half as brutal as over there and they do have relatively good success rates; the main difficulty over here (I think) is access to things like drug rehabilitation services are often dependent on whether drug rehabilitation or any particular subject is a current hot topic or not which can mean many grass roots services can come and go no matter how good they are if they’re reliant on any government funding and I think a lot of funding, even if it’s non government can be influenced by what the government tells us is important at any given time 😏 but generally, if a person is serious about getting clean, they’ll get into a good enough rehab and many can be accessed free of charge and have excellent after care services as well, so in this area, I think we fair better than you guys but as we know, no matter how good the service is, if the person isn’t ready to quit it’s not gonna help them and I think no matter where we are, if we’re serious about getting clean, we’ll do it and one way or another help will be there, a bit like when the student is ready, the teacher appears and visa versa ☺️

@@cameronaskarian9584 you try everything as someone who loves an addict or alcoholic. And it’s the worst thing when you realize there is absolutely nothing you can do. It all has to come from within themselves. Even though you ultimately know this, you carry an enormous burden of guilt and helplessness forever. Your brother may find his strength. He can pull through this. Just always let him know you are there for him, and then be there if he reaches out. I’ll keep you in my thoughts and meditations. Really.

Wow. I'm in shock...I know who this guy is. This was a while ago. He used to "camp out" on "bum mountain" on the Union City/Jersey City border. I had a neighbor that used to feed/look out for the homeless. This guy was a regular. We all assumed he was dead. I guess he made it to California after all.

Do you believe everything he was saying? I found some of his story(actually most of it) hard to believe. It just comes off as a bit to extreme to be all true.

He is brave for sharing his story. I’m scared for him. I hope he can get clean for good and find a safe space where he doesn’t have to be looking over his shoulder. Maybe go back to school too. He’s got potential.

Dude is bluffing about the murder and guy getting shot off the cliff thing. I bet he’s told this whole story a million times and it molded added and got more dangerous as he told it more. That’s a accessory to murder charge he just admitted to. Kidnapping and attempted murder. Tampering with evidence multiple assault charges weapons charges dude would be in jail or dead for being able to put someone else in jail. I have friends that actually are serving life sentences for all types of wild stuff and this sound fishy

OMGGG....This was the most interesting interview to date. I had no idea of this business. Terrible.. I think he most definitely has a solid chance to get on the straight and narrow. Such a young man to have witnessed and experienced so much, and so much dark shit. I hope he makes out well because deep down I think he has a good soul...Best of luck to him. Hope he getst that Masters and leads a great clean productive life....🙏

He became an addict. He got hooked on heroin. Unfortunately that happens to people from all walks of life. Rich, poor, doesn't matter. You can have inner demons even though you've been given every opportunity there is. You can come from the best home with the best parents, but if you are unhappy, bullied, left out, feel different and so on, the way to getting into alcohol or drugs are so short.

This is so sad & scary. The roots of evil in this country run deep. It’s awful seeing someone who presents so kind & pure wrapped up in such a dark lifestyle. I really hope he can, not only get clean, but stay safe. This is a very private story to share, one that I assume certain people would be very angry to find out about. I feel stupid even asking people to get clean, both my parents were addicts who lost their lives to addiction & it’s no joke. It’s not easy & for some, it’s not even an option. I see a hope & light in this individual though, I hope his faith can lead him into a better direction & he can create the life he deserves.
