Sohyang's singing is shockingly beautiful. If a person has never heard her sing before it is truly a stop and listen moment, and she easily outperforms Whitney Houston. As Sohyang says, "You must be born with a good voice, but then work very hard to improve it." She almost eats, sleeps and breathes music. Here is what David Foster, who wrote the song and produced it for Whitney, had to say about Sohyang in an interview with South Korean media site _Naver_ on December 10, 2018, only a week after doing eight concerts with her at Tokyo's Blue Note Club. “I wanted to meet her very much, and I am delighted to have collaborated in putting together a concert. Here is how I got to know about Sohyang. Oprah Winfrey introduced me to 'a stunningly amazing singer whose video is a must watch.' I fell in love at once with Sohyang's first video I watched on KZfaq, 'I Have Nothing.' It was _thrilling,_ and I searched to listen to most of her other songs as well. I have wanted to meet her for a long time. She is one of the top divas I've come across." David Foster didn't hold back praise. "Her voice is very beautiful and overwhelming, and I found her every performance to be emotionally moving and amazing. Moving forward, I want to collaborate again!" It was actually Whitney Houston's former manager who found this performance on KZfaq and showed it to Oprah Winfrey. 🤷‍♂👌💘

Grant, thanks. I have been watching for you to review this performance. As you know, Sohyang does her own arrangements. To even the most sophisticated music lover, she has the ability to reach out and utterly captivate you until she lets you go. A studio recording is great, but Sohyang is also a talented actress who tells the story of every song. If you take your eyes away, you WILL miss something amazing - like that smile. This is my personal favorite. She takes on an adorable stage presence for this Classic song - when she tugged up on that slinky blue gown and slid across the stage like a Blues Singer in a 1940s movie, I was a goner. In this intimate gift from Sohyang, she is at times; cute, glamorous, beautiful, playful, intense, dramatic, friendly, happy, serious, connected, and energetic. All of that, while in absolute control over her voice, the musical arrangement, the stage, and the audience. But, you already know that there is no one quite like Sohyang. By the way, her belt buckle is embossed with the word POWER. Fitting, don't you think? Cheers.

Thank you Grant for this Magical Performance! You are right, for me in my 70 years I think she is my Favourite,ever! Great God Given Talent and thousands of hours of training, practice and rehearsals! She puts her heart and soul in every Performance! She is the first to criticize her Performance! Even, You Raise Me Up on Immortal Songs, people rave about ! She cried after because she said she could have done better and she sang, recovering from a terrible bout of Pneumonia ( her Doctor said don’t sing, also she thought that would be her last Performance after 2 1/2 years of suffering through 8 bouts of the dreaded lung disease! She’s a fighter because she did go on :-)

By the way Grant, if you live in southern California, Sohyang is putting on her first concert in North America in about five years at the Pechanga Resort and Casino, half way between LA and San Diego, in late October. Tickets went on sale only a day or so ago so you may still be able to get one. As you know, every major label has tried to sign her (to no avail) but since Los Angeles is the epicentre of the music industry I am pretty sure all the heavyweights will be there. I would not be at all surprised if David Foster was there, too. 👀😏💖

She is the best female singer in this world. This is one of her many what i call "don't try this at home" performances! What i mean is no point wasting time try to reach Sohyang's level cause basically no one can! She's in a league of her own. You might say there's an unspoken/unwritten rule that says only Whitney should do her songs and there's some truth to that. However when it comes to Sohyang it doesn't matter if it's a song by Celine, Mariah or Whitney she will make it her own and completely kill it!!
