Believe it or not she wasn’t feeling well during this performance, the doctor had told her not to perform because she was still suffering from her latest bout of pneumonia, but typical of Sohyang, she didn’t want to let the people down who had come to see her. As a long time Sohyang fan, IMO I don’t think this is one of her best performances, it’s certainly not in my top 10 Sohyang performances, although I appreciate that many people have this particular right at, or near, the top of their list, but it’s all about personal preference anyway. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a magnificent performance on its own but I just feel that it wasn’t as pristine at times & feel that she went for a few things that she didn’t quite reach, but you have to remember that I’m not judging this against other singers performances, I’m judging it against the other mind blowing performances of this remarkable woman, so the standard is up at the top of what the human voice can produce. I felt that she was a little ‘flat’ on stage flat as in performance, nothing to die with her pitch 😂). I don’t know if I’m been influenced by the way she looks physically because like I said, I am a massive fan for around 7 years now so I have seen hundreds of video’s of her & I don’t think she looks her best, she looks very tired, she looks like she has lost some weight from her already tiny body & especially in her face she looks a little guant. Obviously, in hindsight, we now know that she was actually ill which makes me wonder, if she can produce this quality of performance whilst I’ll, it’s makes you wonder just what the performance would’ve been like if she’d been 100% healthy. Your life will be better for discovering this beautiful woman with the magical voice & I can assure you that now you’ve boarded the Sohyang train, you are in for one hell of a ride. Thanks for the reaction & apart from the fact that I get to watch this performance again, the enjoyable thing for me is watching your face as you realise that this woman is something else & thinking back to how I felt when I first discovered her, so keep it up.
