Venessa's high notes sound somehow easy as she uses nasal support... She sounds nasally soft? Idk how to put it lol But this technique is common for rockers... So Hyang uses chest-mix that make them more full and powerful (not saying that Venessa's aren't so...but there's a difference), and that is very common for Gospel singers... And to be frank, I prefer the Angel's side Not the devil's lmao But both are incredible They are like chalk and cheese... Like light and shadow. Neither of them exceeds the other's power!

They are both very very good, but no doubt, Sohyang is the winner wbk. Sohyang can use balanced mix in the 6th octave which no one in history has ever done, Sohyang can resonate/sustain high notes up to to C6 and Sohyang can even support a C#6... Vanessa is using heady mix, which of course is much healthier, but balanced mix in 6th octave??? Lets be fr now and think more deeply. No shade to Vanessa I absolutely adore her.

It's funny how almost every clip of vanessa is bad audio quality and almost every clip of so hyang is top quality audio... let's just say I think this video is trying to nudge my opinion in a certain direction😂 I still prefer Vanessa's metallic sound

Sohyang's voice is irritating to the ears.

Both fucking incredibbbbbbbbbbbble. However, this video proves my theory that So Hyang just gets better every note she goes up. No winner, for me, these ladies are just too good to choose from.

They are both so amazing at what they do, but i prefer SoHyang! Her voice has more of a clarity to it, while Vanessa's is sort of scratchy and shrill at moments.

To the ones saying Vanessa is too heady, that's basically the healthier way to sing in her vocal fach. She's a falcon soprano, a hybrid voice between a mezzo and spinto soprano. She has the core of a mezzo so her chest voice can't extend that high as Sohyang so she opts to have a head-dominant matrix. Her upper extension is of Spinto Sopranos, bless her resonance. And FYI, her rasps are healthy ♡♡♡

Tbh, this batlle depends only on preference. They both supports up to 6th octave with their mixed belts, soooooo excellent. They have great techniques. People who love clarity and cleaner sound prefers So Hyang. People who love that tone of an electric guitar prefers Vanessa. Queens!

I love them both so much, both are so unique, two of the best singers in the world!

They’re both are technicially healthy up to C6. But Sohyang is way better in terms of balanced mix, larger resonance, vibrato and bigger volume. Compared to Sohyang’s belts, Vanessa’s belts although very round and open; it’s very thin and scratchy compared to Sohyang’s

i prefer sohyang, more clarity, and vanessa gets a bit scratchy. not straining, and its obvious that the scratchiness is intended, but i prefer a clearer sound. also sohyang seems more balanced

I love both. But for me Sohyanh at king of masked is just unbeatable, the glorious and exciting tone, the long sentences and the transitions. I think technique wise they quite on par in the chest and mixed departments. Vanessa takes the lows and Sohyang the high belts (for ease, since both have amazing belts). Sohyang has a far better headvoice and more connected registers though.

For those wondering where Vanessa Amorosi is. I just saw a documentary about here from 2017, it was 1 hour long (it is a tv-series where two celebrities explore a city during night). It gave such much insight about what she is doing now: She basically wasn't happy with the style of music she was doing and I guess the music industry, so the took a break. She is now doing gospel music and the documentary included so many bits of her singing the new song and she did some improvisation. Her voice sounds even more amazing now.

Vanessa is definitely a match for Sohyang. Sohyang belts have more clarity while Vanessa's has more rasp. So its defitely hard to choose between the 2 when it comes to preference. But when it comes to technique i would say they are equal

Falcon Sopranos are my guilty pleasure. Vanessa for the win. The amazing from top to bottom with more versatility. Dark and cavernous at the bottom and electrifying at the top. Vanessa is more exciting.

I would like to see a whole vocal battle between the two ladies.Not just this! Both ladies are truly two of the best high belters out there. I find Vanessa´s sound way much more interesting and exciting. SoHyang has a more homogeous sound throughout(Same like Mónica Naranjo & Patti Labelle). On the other hand,Vanessa´s voice obtains a slight rasp while ascending the scale. Nothing wrong about it.Same happens with Aretha Fraklin.(Same voice type -Falcon Soprano). Vanessa very often adds a bit of rasp as an effect,though.She can belt out completely clean,if she wants to.She has done it. Also,Vanessa is as agile as SoHyang up there,if not more. Vanessa's mid belts are simply better than SoHyang's.And as she dives into the lower register,SoHyang simply fades away -note by note. Okay,Vanessa's vocal fach gives the advantage .. obviously,but i feel like SoHyang could do better in the middle & low register.
