To those that are against John...put a link of your work in Christ and line it up with the work that Christ has done in John's life. Show up your family life and your spouse and children because John's family is all in the Church and serving. The proof of ones ministry is in the fruit they bare.

@TGravee

@@jgood6088 not so...i will try my best to explain but it you don't have a rational mind, it won't matter but will try. Pastors, like teachers, politicians, any public service figure...does what they do, because of their love, and calling. If anyone of these give their whole life and are committed then, how would they support themselves. Hmmm. Really how. These people have families and children. You may say, why don't they go get jobs. Well you don't want a school teacher having multiple jobs, they would not be able to adequately give the necessary attention to their students, same as a politician. If his heart is divided with other employment or business, his job would not be a good one. Pastors who give 100% to the congregation that God has blessed them to serve, yends to have better and larger ministries. Now, I live in the DC area and John is in CA, he has bless me spiritual that I am able to evey now and then support. But to ask pastors to work for free then, my question to you is why? Now, I could have given biblical reason to support it but I am guessing that you don't honor the bible. Therefore I gave you some practical wisdom.

Rational thinking Politicians , Pastor of various congregations are on the moral side of their supposed calling is disingenuous at best. I could list countless so called Pastors, Politicians just in it for the money. For Gods sake what about all the Prosperity Pastors raking in the dough at the expense of the not so rational minds handing over the last dollars for a cure not to happen. Shameful , No this So called Pastor John Mac is a false teacher and leads a man made Church only . As soon as he gone another will take his place and he soon will be forgotten.

I never went to Church (Protestant or Catholic...I still don't)...only read the Bible by myself and have had personal "episodes" with Jesus and the Holy Spirit. No traditions, no different denominational beliefs...just me, Bible and God. And I know without a shadow of doubt that God knows who I am, that he loves me and that I am saved. This is more than enough reason to prove to me that Scripture alone is all you need to be saved...

And the more mature you get the more researching God's word he will reveal more Revelation to you only on what you are believing and acting upon will he give you more revelation. I go along with this video up to the point where MacArthur denies that God speaks to His people about things in their lives. The Apostle Paul defined a church service where one has a prophecy, one has a tongue, one has an interpretation. If a woman prays OR PROPHESIES with her head uncovered, it is a shame. Prophecy is part of our relationship with God. Nobody ever claimed that these revelations should trump the word of God. When I pray for guidance from God, that guidance is not to determine whether to believe God's word or just go with the urge of the flesh. My prayers for guidance have to do with MY walk in life - should I take a job, leave a church, etc. When we see the prophets of old, we see them using this guidance as personal help - not super-hermeneutical decoding. Being open to the leading of the Holy Spirit is a good thing. Looking for the fingerprints of God in every area of life is what a God conscious person does. It's foolish to discourage that kind of relationship with God because without God's guidance, all we have are the money grubbing, control freaks who make up church leadership (by and large). Given the choice, OI'll go with God. There are far too any pretenders in church leadership

I listened to the entire interview. I will admit that this preacher sounds really good and seems to know what he is talking about. However, I find that by listening to him, I have more questions then I did before. One of the first questions I have is that Mr. MacArthur cites 1 Tim. About the Bible being sufficient. What happens if you have two people who say they are being led by the Holy Spirit and come to two very different conclusions. For example, do you need Baptism to be Saved or not? How to you solve this disagreement? Someone is right and someone is wrong. They will both point to Scripture to prove their point.

@@lindsytannock7969 Thank you again Lindsy for the response. However, this is the problem that I am having. Jesus says in John 3:5, "Truly, Truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God." So according to Jesus you must be baptized by the Spirit and Water, not just Spirit. However, If I am reading what you said correctly, then all you need is to be born of the Spirit. I am sure you are well read in Scripture and have studied it. However, just reading what this verse says from Christ, he says you need both. I have heard other people make the same claim. So how do we know who is right in this situation? I am just trying to understand sola scriptura better. Thank you again.

Scripture makes a man PROFITABLE not PERFECT. And yes it does fully equip the man of God but if a Lutheran is a man of god, or if a evangelical is a man of God, or if a Baptist is a man of God, but they all disagree with each other about key issues of Christianity ex. Salvation, baptism, or if Christ is present in the bread and wine well then there is a big problem at hand and where Protestantism crumbles because of this foundation that they so heavily rely on. The Bible is the word of God, however it is not formally sufficient but rather materially sufficient. This is the example I use. Say you want to build a shed for your backyard you would have to go to Home Depot or Lowe’s etc. to get all the equipment you need to get the job done. The hardware store has the stuff to make you FULLY EQUIPPED to build that shed, but what if you don’t know how to build a shed? You would have to go outside yourself to find a source or someone that knows how to properly build the shed because if it’s just you trying to do it, more than likely it’s not going to be a great shed and will have a lot of problems with it. It’s the same way with the Bible, the Bible has all the material you need but if it’s just you, a fallible person, trying to interpret something that infallible, then there will be problems too. As evidence shows with all these different denominations with different beliefs. Sola Scriptura was invented by a man named Martin Luther and for the first 1500 years of Christianity nobody held to this idea. If anyone is curious I would recommend reading the early church fathers works. They were the first leaders of Christianity and some of them lived during the time of the apostles and even were disciples of the apostles! They would have the best idea of what the first Christians believed and how they worshiped because they heard it from the apostles and they heard it from Jesus.

You've broken down the necessity for elders and teachers in the church! I don't think Luther or any other reformer would disagree with the need for mature Christians to take on the responsibility of helping less mature Christians in maturity, the question of maturity is big in 1 Corinthians. However this doesn't suggest the teacher can teach outside of scripture, they help interpret scripture.

Your Seriously in error big time… Scripture cannot be in conflict with Scripture, and one of the ways this is guaranteed is by Sacred Tradition. There are some instances of Sacred Tradition in the Bible that are interesting. For instance, in Acts 20:35, Paul says the following: "In all things I have shown you that by so toiling one must help the weak, remembering the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, `It is more blessed to give than to receive.'" These words are not recorded anywhere else in the Bible, including the 4 gospels, so this is one example of an oral teaching of Jesus being handed on to Paul,who hands it down to us. Another example of this is in the book of Jude 1:9, which says the following: "But when the archangel Michael, contending with the devil, disputed about the body of Moses, he did not presume to pronounce a reviling judgment upon him, but said, "The Lord rebuke you." This dispute, between the Archangel Michael and the devil over Moses' body, is nowhere to be found in the written text of the Old Testament. Here are a few more: Matthew 2:23:And he went and dwelt in a city called Nazareth, that what was spoken by the prophets might be fulfilled, "He shall be called a Nazarene."(This "he shall be called a Nazarene" prophecy is not in written scripture anywhere). Matthew 23:2:"The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses' seat;"(Moses' seat is not mentioned anywhere in written scripture). 1 Corinthians 10:4:"and all drank the same supernatural drink. For they drank from the supernatural Rock which followed them, and the Rock was Christ." (Nowhere in the Old Testament does it say that a rock "followed" the Israelites in the desert.) 2 Timothy 3:8: "As Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men of corrupt mind and counterfeit faith;" (These 2 individuals who opposed Moses are not written in the Old Testament). Hebrews 11:35: "Women received their dead by resurrection. Some were tortured, refusing to accept release, that they might rise again to a better life" (This is a direct reference to 2 Maccabees 7, which Luther threw out of his bible in the 16th century. This story cannot be found anywhere in the Protestant Bible. It is in the Catholic Bible, and has been since the 4th century.)

How do we know the Bible that we are now using is the Complete Scriptures of God... According to John 21:25, there are other "Teachings, Doctrines, and Works done by Christ Jesus" that had not been written down for the whole world could not hold them in a book... Therefore, the 1st Cent. A.D. Early 7 Christian Churches in Asia Minor still have ORAL/VERBAL Traditions that were not written down which were FIRST-HAND eyewitnesses of what Christ Jesus did while he was still on Earth but were not written down... Do you mean to say, we need to DISREGARD all the ORAL/VERBAL TRADITIONAL WAY of the 1st Cent. A.D. Churches in Asia Minor have followed, obeyed, and passed down from generation to generation of the Church, but instead, focused only on what was WRITTEN?... Where can we find in the Bible that says, "We need to obey and follow only what was WRITTEN in the Scriptures, those were not written down, might as well forget it?" St. Paul said to the Galatians (ref. Gal.1:8)..."If we (apostles) or an Angel from Heaven TEACHES/PREACHES (verbally/orally) different kinds of Gospel (including Prophecies) other than what we have TAUGHT/PREACHED unto you, let God's CURSE be upon them, and be ETERNALY CONDEMNED."... St. Paul clearly did not say ONLY the WRITTEN Teachings we shared on the early 7 Churches of Asia Minor... St. Paul meant ALL the teachings (Verbal/Oral Traditions and Written/Epistles) that they had taught and received by the Early Churches of the 1st Cent. A.D. Who dictates which Scriptures go with the compilation of the Bible?... Most especially the New Testament, because the Old Testament of God to Israel was already COMPLETELY written down in manuscripts (scrolls) preserved by the Israelite Jews before Christ Jesus came to Earth to become Human like us... the only question in the O.T. is if the translation from Hebrew-Aramaic to English language is properly correct in terms of CONTEXT and MEANING? While the New Testament of God through Christ Jesus has many FIRST-HAND eyewitnesses WRITERS of the 1st Cent. A.D. that were not included in the Bible but were found recently in the Cave of Qumran and in the Vatical Archive, Rome... Facts and Truth of the Matters... Amen.

Sola Scriptura defined as the authority of the "Bible alone" is steel manning the argument. The most accurate representation would be defining it as the authority of your personal interpretation of the "Bible Alone". How else would you get denominations claiming opposite things on mutually exclusive doctrines that can't both be true but all of them having the exact same source they claim to be using...The Bible.

Instead of going into a book like the Bible to find spiritual answers, go within. Even the Bible tells you to do that. "The Knowledge of the Kingdom of Heaven is Within You." So true. God speaks directly to you. If you go to a book instead, you are not believing in your own divinity and you lack confidence in yourself. You are trusting someone else to give you answers instead of yourself. Moses didn not have the answers. He was a killer.

Christ Jesus handed over to Apostle Peter the KEYS to the Gates of Heaven and also sighting that St. Peter was chosen by God to have the Power on Earth to Bound and Loose and whatever He Bound and Loose on Earth will also be done in Heaven... Not all Apostles were given the KEYS of the Gates of Heaven and that specific Authority on Earth... By SPOKEN (ORAL) TRADITION of the 1st Century. A.D. Early Churches in Asia Minor mentioned in the Book of Revelation, this Authority given personally by Christ Jesus himself to St. Peter was passed on to the next Generation or St. Peter's successor... and so on by/through SPOKEN (Oral) Traditions... Logically (common sense) speaking, there were NO NEW TRADITIONS "after" the Apostles died based on Galation 1:8..."If we (Apostles) or an Angel from Heaven preach/teach other Gospel other than the Gospel (Spoken/Oral and Written Traditions) that we preached/taught and received from us (Apostles), let God's CURSE be upon them (be condemned eternally, doomed/destroyed to eternal hell, be an Anathema)." Spoken/Oral Traditions of the 1st Cent. A.D. Churches in Asia minor approved by the Apostles such us ...on how the proper way they conduct the GATHERINGS of Christians every 1st Day of the Week (Sunday)... the proper way of tradition on how they BREAK the BREAD and SHARE the WINE.... on how the proper way (tradition) they COLLECT the contribution and distribution of finances of the Living Saints, etc... When Blessed Mary died, some Apostles were still alive at that time... many have witnessed according to the SPOKEN TRADITION that Angels came to carry Her Body to Heaven just like how Christ Jesus ascended to Heaven... like Enoch who walked with God was taken by God... just like Prophet Elijah taken by God through the Chariot of Fire, like Prophet Moses, God took and bury Moses' body through Angel Michael... Greek Orthodox Church of the 2nd Cent. A.D. believed in this ORAL/ SPOKEN TRADITION of the 1st Cent. A.D. INFANT BAPTISM was also part of the SPOKEN/ORAL Tradition of the 1st Century A.D... According to the Bible, the Apostles/Disciples of the 1st Century A.D. had BAPTISED the "WHOLE HOUSEHOLD," which logically includes minors such as children and toddlers or infants... take note, not only the HOUSEHOLD but clearly stated the word "WHOLE," which means ENTIRE HOUSEHOLD with no exemption... in every Household, there are most likely some minors (Children or infant)... Take Note: According to the Bible, Blessed Mary is "Blessed among Women" in all mankind's generation... She was "FAVORED" by God with "FULL OF GRACE" from the Holy Spirit according to Angel Gabriel...and the Holy Spirit dwelt upon her twice (2x), during her pregnancy/conception and during the Pentecost (tongues of fire) which she also spoke other languages... the Bible said, "ALL have spoken in different tongues"... no exemption... However, Purgatory, Limbo, Rosary, Perpetual Virginity, Immaculate Conception, etc... are "NOT" under the Oral/Spoken and Written Traditions of the 1st Century A.D, wherein some Apostles still alive at that time, they were Roman Catholic Church (RCC) DOCTRINES starting in the 4th century A.D. onward... RCC claimed that these Doctrines were PRIVATE REVELATIONS from God given to the SUCCESSORS of St. Peter (the POPES) to God's CHURCH through Miracles, and Appartions witnessed by many people (Believers and Pagan) that have changed their lives for good, which was now called the UNIVERSAL (Catholic) Church of God in Christ... Why did they (Christian Elders/Bishops) choose the Latin word "CATHOLICUM" (Universal)?... to CONSOLIDATE all the Churches into ONE CHURCH of God in Christ (one Body of Christ) during the 4th Century A.D. that had started from Asia Minor (presently Turkey) in the 1st Century A.D. ... which unfortunately (historically) had broken into 2 Main Churches (Eastern Greek and Western Latin/Rome) then into many Protestant Churches and their Denominations starting in the 15th Cent. A.D. which is roughly today around +5000 Protestant Churches around the world... Facts and Truth, Biblically, Logically, and Historically speaking... Amen.

Amen

Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized in the name of Paul? 14 I thank God that I did not baptize any of you except Crispus and Gaius, 15 so no one can say that you were baptized in my name. 16 (Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas; beyond that, I don’t remember if I baptized anyone else.) 17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel-not with wisdom and eloquence, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.

Here one good reason Sola Scriptura is wrong Christians is separated into thousands of denominations. Pentecostal, Presbyterian, Lutheran, Baptist, Apostolic, Methodist - the list goes on. Estimations show there are more than 200 Christian denominations in the U.S. and a staggering 45,000 globally. 13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? 14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. 15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. 18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. See not everyone can't understand scripture in the own, they all had different ideas of who Jesus is. They heard the word of God straight from Jesus and yet didn't understand. Christ gave is the Church his church not thousands of denominations. one Lord, one faith, one baptism. He gave Peter the keys and we all know what the simple of keys means, he gave Peter and his Church Authority to teach, how to bind to loosen. Sola Scriptura is just not in the bible and the name of the books to be put in the bible isn't found in the bible. Yes a person can say we believe Jesus to be the Son of God our savior, but we musten just believe who he is but believe everything he taught, and the meaning etc....as we see who do people say I am, there are all kinds of opions but not true. This is why we have the Church to keep unity in Christ teachings. And now there is so much disunity as we see thousands of denominations. Sorry if I have spelling mistake I am typing on my phone

Sola Scriptura translate 5.9 REVELATION as a new song. How you are going to learn ? There shall be no night there: THEY need no lamp nor light of the son, for the Lord God gives THEM light. (( Then I said: " Ah, Lord God ! THEY say of Me, " Does he not speak parables ?" ... for John said that this is the condemnation, but he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God. And he who sees Me sees Him who sent Me. I have not come that whoever believes in Me should abide in darkness...)) But you took some of your garments and adorned multicolored high places for yourself and played the harlot on them. Such things should not happen, nor be. You also have taken your beautiful jewelry from my gold and my silver, which I have given you, and made for yourself male images and played the harlot with them. For my flesh is food indeed and my blood is drink indeed ?? Indeed, I, Paul, say to you that if you become stupid, Christ will profit you nothing, for In testify A GAIN to every man who becomes circumcised that he is a deptor to keep the whole law. Therefore We are debtors - not to the flesh to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die. But if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For I am a debtor both to Greeks and to bulgarians, both to wise and unwise. This punishment which was inflicted by the majority is sufficient for such a man, so that, on the contrary, you ought rather to forgive and comfort him.(( Which is impossible : Matthew's 12:31 !)) Therefore I urge you to reaffirm your love to him, for to this end, I also wrote, that I might put you to the test, whether you are obedient to all things... (( For WE are not ignorant of Satan or his devices, for WE are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved And among those who are perishing💂👸:) ( Surah 25:30 BG ): For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need Someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God and You have come to need MLK and not solid food. ( RE.: 5:1) And no one in heaven on the earth, or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it. For on the one hand, there is an annulling of the former Commandment because of its weakness and unprofitableness for the Law made Nothing Perfect ! On the other hand ...🤔.. (( I have declare it, that the love with which You loved Me, may be in them, and I in them, for without Me you can do nothing.)) And it shall come to pass in the place where it was said to them, " you are not my people" - There They shall be called sons of the living God. How about that ? Is not seeing wonderful ? #33:40 ? 😂 Moreover, John has the emaculate heart from verse 20:16, which is to say Teacher: Therefore thus says the LORD God Isaiah (65:13+14) ((But then I said concerning her who had grown old in adulteries, Will they commit harlotry with her now, and she with them??)) Yet, they went in to her, as men go in to a woman who plays the harlot.. the lewd women 😯...( Is.64:8).. And now after the Sabbath began to down, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb and behold a great earthquake, for an Angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it. So when the centurion saw what had happened, he glorified God' sayings. Certainly ! This was a righteous man... Ami da! The LORD is Righteous, for I rebelled against His Commandment...( Job 19:29) Hear now, all peoples, and behold my sorrow.. my virgins and my young men have gone into captivity :Now the Egyptians are men, and not God, and their horses are flesh, and not spirit, But God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil... (( See, I have given You a cow dunk instead of human waste 😂 for I thank God, whom I serve with a pure conscience, as my forefathers did, as without ceasing I remember you in " my prayers":) night and day..)) Therefore WE do not lose heart, for then he spoke a parable to the stupid, that that men always ought to pray and not to lose heart.. and I determined not to know anything among you , when I heard ANOTHER from the Altar's sayings. Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and Righteous are YOUR judgments Because YOU have judged these things for they have shed the blood of saints and prophets. And if so, according to the statement of R.21:7 the son of Isaiah is AMOS after that is Surah 29:2 !! (( Opravqite se ili se spasqvaite. Na Men Me E vse edno ))

Heresy. The scripture itself testifies that no man can even understand God, his thoughts, the mind of God, or anything that comes from God unless his spirit reveals it. 1 cor 2:9-14 Isaiah 55:8 the scripture also says the holy spirit will teach a person all truth, and lead them, and even give them the very words of god to say, and lead them into God's good works which Christ the perfect example of who we are to be like was also led by the spirit and he himself testified that his words and his Works were not his own but the father who lives in him was doing the work. so the true authority over scripture, and the faith and doctrine is not scripture, the authority of the Holy Spirit is what these heresies reject, even the very Holy Spirit from God himself communicating to every believer who truly follows Christ in heart and mind in all sincerity the very things that Christ himself is telling them through the holy spirit about what the Bible even means, because the Bible is so far beyond mankind because it came from GOD, and mankind cannot know the mind of God unless God helps him understand through the Holy Spirit. The holy spirit is the final authority over all discernment and interpretation of the scriptures and even scripture itself states this and without this all you have is a bunch of men and their human faculties figuring it out and that's why you have thousands upon thousands of contradictory interpretations that even contradict the scripture like sola scriptura which rejects the very authority Christ and God themselevs said is the one and only to teach you all things himself and give you the words to say and lead you into all truth. The scripture is clear that those who are led by the spirit of God are the children of God. unfortunately this heresy is the opposite of what God himself testifies about and leaves men trying to figure God out on their own without following or listening to the Holy spirit himself. Even the scripture testifies in 2nd Peter 2 that there will be false teachers among you that will introduce destructive heresies even denying the very Lord that bought them and that's what solo scripture is because it denies the Holy spirit as the true authority over interpretation, discernment, and what God is saying, meaning, and desiring and sola scriptura actually teaches to reject the Holy spirit and Christ himself who teaches, leads and instructs through the holy spirit.

@Asaph Vapor Baloney: Lutherans not a Protestant church? Tell that to Luther. Presbyterians, Methodists not Protestant? "But today, there are more than 5,000 Protestant churches in the U.S. that are welcoming and affirming of LGBTQ people. The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the largest Lutheran church body in the U.S. that traces its theological foundation to Luther himself, consecrated an openly gay bishop in 2013 and allows clergy to perform same-sex marriages. Other major mainline protestant denominations, including the United Church of Christ and the Presbyterian Church (USA), have also opened their doors to LGBTQ people and advocate for LGBTQ equality. "Certain other Christian denominations do not view monogamous same-sex relationships as sinful or immoral, and may bless such unions and consider them marriages. These include the United Church of Canada, the Presbyterian Church (USA), the United Church of Christ,[20] all German Lutheran, reformed and united churches in EKD,[21] all Swiss reformed churches, the Protestant Church in the Netherlands, the United Protestant Church in Belgium,[22] the United Protestant Church of France,[23] the Church of Denmark, the Church of Sweden, the Church of Iceland, the Church of Norway, and the Uniting Church in Australia.[24] The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland also allows prayer for same-sex couples.[25] The Metropolitan Community Church was founded specifically to serve the Christian LGBT community. The Global Alliance of Affirming Apostolic Pentecostals (GAAAP), traces its roots back to 1980, making it the oldest LGBT-affirming Apostolic Pentecostal denomination in existence.[26] Another such organization is the Affirming Pentecostal Church International, currently the largest affirming Pentecostal organization, with churches in the US, UK, Central and South America, Europe and Africa. LGBT-affirming denominations regard homosexuality as a natural occurrence. The United Church of Christ celebrates gay marriage,[27] and some parts of the Anglican[28] and Lutheran[29] churches allow for the blessing of gay unions. The United Church of Canada also allows same-sex marriage, and views sexual orientation as a gift from God. Within the Anglican communion, there are openly gay clergy; for example, Gene Robinson is an openly gay Bishop in the US Episcopal Church. Within the Lutheran communion, there are openly gay clergy, too; for example, bishop Eva Brunne is an openly lesbian Bishop in the Church of Sweden. Such religious groups and denominations interpret scripture and doctrine in a way that leads them to accept that homosexuality is morally acceptable, and a natural occurrence. For example, in 1988 the United Church of Canada, that country's largest Protestant denomination, affirmed that "a) All persons, regardless of their sexual orientation, who profess Jesus Christ and obedience to Him, are welcome to be or become full members of the Church; and b) All members of the Church are eligible to be considered for the Ordered Ministry."[30] In 2000, the Church's General Assembly further affirmed that "human sexual orientations, whether heterosexual or homosexual, are a gift from God and part of the marvelous diversity of creation."[31]"

HOWEVER, the bible explicitly teaches that it is sufficient. any addition, subtraction or misinterpretation leads to total disaster.
@bridgefin
@bridgefin 6 жыл бұрын
Grace Scripture in no place claims to give us complete revelation; in fact it makes it quite clear that a substantial portion of Christ's life is not included. And yes, scripture is certainly profitable for many things. But it does not address all things. And when Paul wrote about scripture's profitability he could only be referring to the scripture of the time- the Old Testament. Try using that for all of your teaching! What did God reveal to us about slavery? Number of wives? Abortion? The morality of abortion, artificial insemination, going to war, participation in government, home ownership if debt is necessary, artificial contraception? There are no chapter and versus that speak to these. And there is no place where scripture claims to be our sole authority. So if you practice in Sola Scriptura you will not hold to the doctrine of Sola Scriptura since Scriptura does not teach it. And the key question is: "Was Jesus authoritative when he spoke?" If he was, then NOT ONLY scripture is authoritative.

Well first of all, the scripture does say do not add or remove, it does claim that it is complete revelation and its is the only revelation from God. see Proverbs 30:6, Revelation22:18-19. also Hebrews 1:1-2. the written word of God is more than enough. that is why we hold to scripture alone. simply state it that the scripture is the source of truth not the thoughts of anyone. the scripture is authoritative and the scripture ALONE. Answer to the key question: Jesus was speaking with authority see last verse from Matthew chapter 7; and see 2 John & 3 John when the Apostle John says "Though I have many things to write to you, I do not want to do so with paper and ink; ..." everything that God wanted to reveal is in Scripture see 2 TIm. 3:16.

Grace MinistryNZ The Bible does not claim to authoritative. It’s people like John MacArthur that claim they’re the authority over the Bible. Just ask him or any random what’s happening now self ordained pastor

Read Psalm 19, Psalm 119: see verse 89 Forever, O LORD, Your word is settled in heaven. Matt. 5 .... until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished..... does it make sense! or that's not authoritative ???

Depends on who is interpreting scripture isn't it. You seem to think your right when someone else may think it not the same. How do you square that with one's personal ( holly spirit ) opinion.

the bible is the work of the Holy Spirit, we can't debate the truth, and there is no such thing one's personal holy spirit opinion, there is something called the bible speak for itself, and a person speak for the bible, all I am saying is the Scripture claims to be authoritative, and the sufficient revelation from God. it is not my opinion I just accept the Scripture alone, based on the word of God

@@bellalugosi5853 SPOT ON, those of us that know Jesus as Lord and Savior would never pray to sister Mary, and we uphold the Word of God because we have intimacy with Jesus and the Father!

Amazing! It is like a lawyer questioning his/her own witness. Wait till Mr. Macarthur is cross questioned by the opposing lawyer. For example, "Do you claim to be an expert in the bible?" Answer: Yes. I have education in the bible." Question: Did you write the bible?" A. No. Q. So your opinion is only an interpretation of the bible? A. Ahh, umm, (bunch of blabber). Q. Move to strike, non responsive. Stricken. Q. Where in the bible will you find the verse, scripture alone? A. 2 Tim 3:15, etc. Q. Did you see scripture alone in there?" A. No, but it says it's sufficient. Q. Is sufficient the same as alone? A. Ahhh, ummm. But (blabber). Q. Do you believe everything in the bible?" A. Yes. Q. Do you believe Mary when she said "All generations shall call me blessed?" A. Ahh, umm, yes. Q. When was the last time you called Mary blessed?. A. Ahh, umm. No more questions, your honor.

You are wrong because you do not understand the Scripture. In 2 Timothy 3:16-17 it says the Bible can make someone "complete". If we are complete with Scripture, then we need no other source of truth in addition to it. You admit that Scripture claims to be sufficient, but you fail to see that the sufficiency of Scripture entails Sola Scriptura.

Domingo Melchor : Because Sola Scriptura 2 Tim.3:15 Means Galatians 2:7, for He who worked effectively in Peter for the Apostleship to the circumcised, also worked effectively in me toward the gentiles. Do you not know 1 Corinth. 6:2 ?

Bryan Jacobs, Thanks for your comments. I am not saying I am right or wrong, I am saying that the sola scriptura position, does not hold water when subjected to close scrutiny. You don't find alone in 2Tim3:16-17. Does Sola Scriptura mean that we don't need Mr. MacArthur to teach us what the bible means? That we can know the bible without the authority of a teacher? That we can be our own theologian. Because that is what I would understand the meaning of bible alone. That if somebody disagrees with me on certain doctrine, for example, once saved always saved, we don't need an arbiter to settle the argument. We can simply dismiss the other as wrong and I am right. Then one of us goes to hell. True, the bible is the word of God. Jesus said in the gospel of Luke 11:27-28, "....28. Rather, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it." To me, this passage mean that the word of God is meant to be taught (heard and not simply read). Who then has the authority to teach us? Remember the scene between Philipp and the Ethiopian eunoch? "Do I understand what I am reading?"

Or this: Q. Are you a man of God? A. Yes Q. Are pastors from other denominations men of God? A. Presumably Q. Then how come you all can't agree on Infant Baptism? Isn't it clear enough in the bible?

pbaylis1 : Jesus teaches on Celibacy. All cannot accept this saying, but only to whom it has been given. For they are eunuchs who were born thus from their mother's womb. Predestined !! But you must be born again. For revelation 10:4 seal up the things which the 7 thunders uttered and do not write them, so that one must only presume the blessed virgin' womb.
