great video, I've been looking to add battery back up to my grid tie system recently . very informative good job . always found it easier to do things if I see how it's done then read how to do it

What version of inverter are you using? Does your model output 240V? I have a magnasine but it will only output 110 on both legs. Can I put a step up/ step down transformer to get it to 240V?

So I have a Magnasin inverter and Enphase micro inverters like you. You have the Enphase inverts / panels connected to the same output side of the Magnasin and from the output side of the Magnasin it is changeing the batteries? DO you only have the grid connected to the input side of the Mangasin inverter? Do you have a diagram that shows this?

Thanks for your comments, I'm no longer doing AC Coupling, when I did this, it was a while ago so my memory is a bit fuzzy. My system was a bit overly complicated. Would you mind giving a run down on the parts # names you use for the relay disconnect? The DC relay and the 2 AC relays?Thanks I am going to do the same for my SMA grid tie. I like that much more than a dump load. God Bless

You can check-out "1-Pole Surface Mount Solid State Relay; Max. Output Amps w/Heat Sink: 50", from Crydom. Mfr. Model # D2450-B. I used 2 similar to these. They are of the "normally closed" type. An adjustable voltage monitoring relay provides the control voltage to open and close the SSR's. However, please double check to see if they will meet your requirements.

try not to install stuff close to battery bank. It will corrode in time due to fumes...

Thanks for your comments, I agree with you. These batteries are AGM batteries so they are sealed. However, I have since moved my inverter much higher on my wall. I have also given the same advice to others concerning flooded lead acid batteries being directly underneath electrical equipment for the same reason. This is an older video, my system has evolved to have Nickel Iron Batteries etc. Thanks again for the comments.

i have 12 x 275 watt panels $3200 3x SolarEpic MPPT 40A Solar Charge Controller 150V PV input Tracer 4215BN, $600 16x 232 ah battery $2600 1xmagnum 4024pae, 4000w,240v $2400 on order 1xpower jack 15000 ( china stuff) dont know how good it is, im using it as backup

Very nice system components and the costs are about right for what you are getting. The power jack 15000 is the only item I would question, but from what I've seen, for a backup it should do fine.

I've recently put solar panels and 4 deep cycle batteries and an inverter pure sine wave 2500w On our farm that doesn't have power . We have been running a generator , so know we have both to power our needs . We have had the solar system for the past two months, but it keeps tripping . We are running the lights , refrigerator , water pump, TV, at times the solar works for long hours And times it just keeps tripping . Also the generator is near the inverter. Can anyone help or give suggested ideas.
