I was in the path of totality in the 2017 eclipse.. It was surreal (other worldly) for just a few moments. You have to experience it in person.

That was pretty much the reaction where I was on Blue Mountain in Arkansas. Just floored everyone

Something special about the 2024 solar eclipse; It was the day before the official end of the Islamic month of Ramadan.

The camera just doesn't do enough justice! It's way more awesome when you see it with your own eyes.

I was in Ohio. I got a room 4 months in advance. The traffic home was a nightmare. It took 7 hours to get back home... I'd do it all over again. Thanks for sharing your experience.

I was in a zone with 94% totality with a completely cloudless sky and did notice a dimming of sunlight for about three to four hours . I'm marveling at your Maine snow cover---we were shortchanged this El Nino winter in my area.

This is an experience you'll remember forever. The only one I've ever seen was in 1999, still a memory as clear as it had happened yesterday. Simply stunning!

I was unprepared for how underwhelming my expectations were to seeing this in real life.

You know what just struck me? We had totality here in Central Ohio and amazingly, my house was in the path so we got to watch from the comforts of home which was fantastic.

We had a veil of clouds in Cape Vincent, NY, so no clear view of the chromospere, but it was still perhaps the most beautiful event I have witnessed in my life. Seriously thinking about packing up the 'scopes and heading to Spain or Iceland in '26.

The best video I've seen yet on the eclipse. I was in Island Pond Vermont for the eclipse, but got too wrapped up in trying to photograph the diamond ring/totality (which completely failed), that I missed most of the actual event. The experience of having the effect of "the light turning off" at the last few seconds - as in this video - is what I seem to recall. It was amazing! Just wish I had paid more attention to my surroundings and forget photograph.

Indiana here...wish we had the mountains to look down from. amazing.
