Most solar panel installations in the UK have an export or generation meter fitted alongside the solar inverter. This requirement was mandatory when most PV installations were governed by the FIT or Feed-in Tariff. However, since the FIT tariff is no longer applicable, a question arises whether an export meter is still necessary or not?
This video will discuss the metering requirements outlined in the latest IET Code of Practice for Solar Photovoltaic Installations and the MCS Solar guide.
