It's amazing as well because Travis was super hesitant to even get involved in Critical Role when it was starting, which is why he made Grog; a simple character who just likes to do simple things and fight and isn't overly involved in puzzles and interaction, but he ended up being a VERY integral member of the party and ended up becoming a big lovable friend who nobody wants to see hurt in any way.

I love the fact that he renounced deeper role play very early on, and with the slow adaptation with Liam and the rest, he really reached out and especially got excited over romance in the later half of the first season and second season which is really amusing to watch

@@edie9158 I think that Liam pushed everybody to bring their roleplay to the next level, specially with his romance with Marisha. The rest of the cast (minus Matt) all thought it was cringe at first, and slowly started to realize that it was just a part of the game

@@yooooo8600 voice acting is still acting; there’s still a certain level of physicality and theatrical performance put into it. They were just trying to say that they all have some sort of screen acting background, as well.

nah, wouldn't be the same... he could have returned to Pike and the group whenever. Pike never knew where he was, so it was more emotional for her.

Scanlan praying to Sarenrae was his way of doing that, of all the pantheon Gods he chose to pray to the one that Pike has faith in. So every time he prayed, his thoughts was of her and id wager he asked Saranrae to keep her safe, to keep grog by her side. Pike reaction to him praying is also a hidden message of her realizing he never stopped loving her or thinking of her as she never stopped thinking of him. The illusion I would say was for Pike and Grog rather than rest of party because Scanlan didnt really have a close relationship with them. Pike is mad but also conflicted between being happy he is alive and hurt that he came back as a lie, she's also acknowledged how Grog feels, throw in the budding feelings she has for him. So him saying I prayed, I don't know if I was being heard but I still did it is the strongest thing he could of said to her.

They're really good friends with Bobby (Logic). Brian (also on the cover), Ashley's boyfriend, runs a DnD game with him, and Mary Elizabeth aka Zara, who is also on the cover, and Will Freidle aka Kashaw.

new characters?

tanory07 Vox Machina is almost at level 20, the max level of 5e D&D games. They're in the closing arc of the current game/story in Tal'Dorei with the characters. Everything they've been building up towards, the big bad evil. After the arc is over and they're either dead or super mega heroes that saved all of everything, they're going to start new characters off on a brand new adventure somewhere else in the world.

Critical Role Episode 85, A Bard’s Lament. An incredible and devastating episode from start to finish. It’s very dependent on the episodes leading up to it, though. And by extension, the entire show and history of its characters.

TL;DR Scanlan died when he promised his daughter he wouldn't, when he was resurrected in front of her he was humiliated by his team When he regains consciousness he has an incredible tirade saying how they never did anything for him and he's leaving You can watch his lament, it's 5 minutes, and an incredible piece of acting on all sides

I think its because its a sudden drop back into Scanlan while we still have Sam trying to play Tary. Not to mention Scanlan has changed in certain ways. We need more time with Scanlan, where Sam can fully commit to him. I think its an awesome start though. Scanlan forever

I could get that. But just remember that Scanlan was going through some shit and my fellow critters and myself in my personal circle have talked about Scanlan's issues and agree they started not just when he found he had a child but also once he got scammed. Also he's having major issues with the fact he is a Knome as shown with how he pretended to be a big and tall man with his hat from a lot of people.
