Seeing this video after AI art has exploded into the mainstream and rapidly progressed to the point where I genuinely have to look for a moment to make sure a piece of AI art is AI art is bizarre. Like, even the image at the start of the video, it's so obvious in hindsight that it's an AI image now because we know what AI images look like a lot more than we did back then.

The scariest part to me is how much AI art has made such an advancement in quality in just two years. We were barely getting Deepfakes to look and sound convincing enough. Now art generation is accessible within minutes, just as much as the mention of NVIDIA's painter in this video.

The only reason I find the picture disturbing is the black thing in the corner because it looks like some sort of out of place monster from a horror game or something, that doesn’t go with the rest of the room

What an incredible video! It gets to the core of so many of our existential problems in such a short time. It's an unsettling primer about how to be an effective artist and how to deal with life at the same time. Not to mention the issue of AI getting better and better at making art, which will be a massive problem going forward. A lot has happened in the last three years, and this video kind of encapsulates the underlying dread that's occurring. Bravo!

2 years later, ai art blows up

There’s an artist who had dementia and did a self portrait every year, then I believe month, to document the process on the brain. The first few self portraits were realistic and true to life, but they slowly lost all human recognition over time. The last piece was completely incomprehensible

Dawn, as an artist coming back to this video now that AI can draw something like me in 5 min, my guy was right on point with the prediction, when I saw this for the first time I thought this was the far away future, now my friend that dosnt know how to draw is making art better than me, truly sad to this all these years of skill go down the drain, AI still has a lot of room to grow tho

This image looks like when I’m reading a book and then realize I wasn’t paying attention during the whole last page because my thoughts went on a tangent. So I reread it, but I still can’t fully absorb the story because I’m so distracted by the fact that I’m remembering everything even though it feels like it’s the first time I’ve read it. So then I have to read it a third time.

That image is like gibberish but for your eyes, visual gibberish. It sounds(looks, in this case) like it's completely normal if you're not paying attention but if you take a closer look you realize it has absolutely no meaning.

This video went directions I really didn’t expect. I found a song recently about my diagnosis, and I’ve found listening to it helps me separate those emotions from how my life is really like. Sort of like figuring out how to isolate the boss battle music from the real music of my life, which is honestly pretty good ❤

It’s really interesting how the discussions of ai art in this have aged, and how a lot of the concerns raised here have started to (or already have) come true.

10:48 this shows how terrifyingly faster the exponential tech growth we have is than we thought, at this point just using a webui and my pc a teenager like me can make art better than most artists in minutes, i can only imagine what will happen in the next 10 years with ai, AGI doesn't even seem that far off considering how quickly this became a reality

I started playing the end of Everywhere at the End of Time and got instant shivers. How much of that is because it's intrinsically disturbing vs. a placebo because the internet say its disturbing. All I will say though is that reports suggest that in many cases the moments of dying are not scary but incredibly peaceful as various chemicals flood the brain. But I still understand what it's getting at... and 3.20am and now I'm wondering if I should watch some comedy before bed lol

Focussing on this photo is like seeing yourself being close to the finish line, but the harder you focuss on the finish line, further the finish line appears to be. You simultaneously are on the brink of guessing what the objects are, while also being in the process of finding out over time how nothing of what seems to be something, actually is nothing. Your appreciation of art can also be informed by the context it’s not like when people go to museums or galleries they are only appreciating the image they appreciate the message of the work, the artist who created it, their background, etc. art isn’t a medium in a vacuum. AI will make art and will help artists make art but it won’t replace artists.

life is strange and somehow circular. i was making a playlist of songs that make you uncomfortable, the caretaker having a decent number of tracks, and was trying to find an image for the cover. then i remembered this video and after finding it and the photo, let it play in the background for you to bring up the caretaker. made me giggle, im glad i was brought back here again.

thanks to this random image i could find a great master piece! i really loved the "everywhere at the end of time" albun and i listened all of the 6 and a half hours, i loved it not because it is a pleasant music to listen to but beacause its a really great work. you can really hear the diference between the first two stages and the 4th or 5th, and see it too beacause of the paintings. im not a fan of morden art but those paintings really made me feel something. thank you for real!!

Let me tell you guys something interesting. Earlier this year i ended up in hospital and had brain surgery. I had been suffering with massive migraines for about two weeks leading up to it, and when it got so bad i got my mother to drive me to the hospital. Interestingly the last thing i remember before going in for surgery, was staring at the screen which asked me to fill out my personal information and not being able to "understand" what i was looking at. Like, I could see the letter A or the number 7 but my brain couldn't comprehend what it meant, my mother ran to me to ask what was wrong, and I remember telling her that I had lost the ability to read. I was crying because of the pain but also because it felt so alien to not be able to understand that the "A" on screen was in fact an "A". It was the most surreal experience I've ever had and i feel like this image captures that sense of frustration of being able to "see" but not "understand"

As someone who has listened to the entirety of EATEOT, I can safely say that every second of those 6 hours was deeply metaphorical and clearly thought out. The way the hazy static went from background noise to being all that’s left. How melodies came back, more slow and distorted and just nearly similar, enough to make you ask “have I heard this before?”. And many other amazing little concepts throughout the project. Truly outstanding and beautiful art.

This video convinced me to listen to the album. I do not believe there is a more profound and impactful piece of art than it. I genuinely burst into tears repeatedly

There's an earring display board. A little paper/plastic board meant to store and display pairs of earrings. It's that yellowy thing on the white posts in the middle far left. It has multiple pairs of random similarly shaped objects attached to it in regular intervals, particularly what appears to be some pairs of hoops on the top row. The grey part on top could be a mirror to check how you look wearing the earrings.

This video feels like being awake at 4 am when it’s Sunday and you have to get up for school at 5 am.
