The most overlooked vehicle that Volkswagen makes right now.

I have this exact model. I bought it certified used w/4500 miles at $15K and it felt like an absolute steal! I've put about 60K miles on mine and have had almost zero problems. Only issue I did have was my e-brake crapped out on me (failed to engage), but it was covered under warranty so no prob. This is a great point A to point B car. Yes, there aren't many frills - no push-button start, no adaptive cruise control, etc, but if you're looking for a simple base model commuter that has great features for a base model vehicle then this one is tough to beat! My favorite feature is how much fun this damn thing is to drive! When I bought it I was looking for something in the $12K-18K range with less than 10K miles and I test drove a SHITLOAD of cars. The moment I got in this one and hit the gas I knew it was the one for me. Yeah, you're not going to set track records and you're not going to beat Chargers and such in a race, but this car certainly has a nice pep to its step. Super fun to chuck around corners too. I do a lot of traveling so I often have to rent cars, most of the cars I rent are in this ballpark price-wise but almost all of them feel like mush and aren't nearly as engaging. It is a VW though, so MAKE SURE that if you get a car like this that you keep up with the maintenance schedule. They're fun as hell, but particular. Not the cheapest car to maintain but if you take care of it then it will treat you well for a long time. Once you start slipping though... well, she'll become angry and make you pay!

idk if you’ll even see this but i agree with you on how fun volkswagen’s are. i have a 2013 jetta with the 2.5 5 cylinder and an automatic and a little gas and it’s super responsive and feels so quick ahaha

Does the base model golf for the 2017 year have Android Auto and Apple CarPlay? Also, this is much better, interior wise, compared to the 2017 Jetta. I would know, as I drive a 2017 Jetta S.

Are these newer golfs reliable? I know german cars tend to be money pits, but of all of them i actually like the golf.
