Because Momma (Dorothy) wanted the 'boys' to be able to go to church/be with their families. I grew up a 'Schawbby'. The President of the company (after Les retired) was my son's Godfather. As a small girl, I thought Les couldn't open a new store without my Dad workin' it. Military 'brats' got nuthin' on those whose dad's worked stores. Gotta say. 17 schools, k-12, every summer in PV, my 'constant'.

This is a fine state. If you're working the ranch or running it's many potential business you be too busy to worry about anything else.

I worked a ranch SW of Prineville that bordered the Prineville Reservoir. 17,500 acres. Lot of the land looking much like this ranch although it has much more streams and green forest. I loved seeing this place. From what I been able to find out having never been back the ranch I knew could have been incorporated into a state park. God what great country.

It is in the good part of Oregon., far from the urban influence.

That is indeed the les Schwab ranch, I just can't believe the kids would sell it, I live in prineville, and I must say it sure beats Portland, where else can you unload your horse and stroll through town.

@@coledrevenj I did some checking. The DNR leases that land out for cattle to feed. So those acres definitely do not convey with the sale of the property.
